How long did it take for you to get back together with an ex?

A month or less.

Two - six months.

Seven months to a year.

More than a year.

Never got back with an ex.

I think it depends on the relationship. Say you broke up with your boyfriend because he lied to you, cheated on you, and treated you like crap, before the relationship can even continue, you both have to sit down and understand the problem and how to fix it. Now switch the case, say your relationship was fabulous, no fighting, no lying, the "spark" was there but you broke up because of outside reasons, he lost his house, he's stressed out about school and work and isn't sure he can please you and better himself in the process. This relationship would need to worked on from more of a personal level, both people could use the time a part to better themselves, establish a future for themselves and so forth and when that happens, establishing a new relationship with your ex is OK to do. The way I look at it is, people get back together with their ex's everyday for millions of reasons, sure sometimes they shouldn't of but if the person is worth it, both people will make an effort to improve themselves so they can have a fulfilling relationship. I would say most relationships should use the break up time to look at themselves and really evaluate the relationship. If in the end it's still worth it, not matter how long it takes, that is when you'll get back together.

Erm...Lets Just Say I Got Back With My Ex...3Days After We Finished, Then We Were Together Again For 5months and split up again. We Ended Up Dating Again After A Month Or Two Had Passed For A Year But Its Now Over. I Know Its Not Meant To Be ANd Will Never Work. I Wouldn't Get Back With A Ex Again. It Hardly Works Out ANd Your Always At \Each Others Backs

It's very confusing, I said a month. It's an old thing, that he cheated with kissing another girl and admitted it. And then he was in a same party and we got back together and after awhile broke up again. He was messed up in the brains.

It is common to feel like you want to be back with an ex, you obviously had something with them at some point. But the fact of the matter is you shouldn't try and get back with an ex unless both of you have made changes in your lives for the better. What I mean by changes are improvements. You both have to have improved the way you go about having and maintaining a relationship. The reason you broke up in the first place is because either both or one of you had a problem with something in the relationship. You need to find the root of this problem first and both have fixed it to truly have a chance at getting and staying back together. If these improvement are not made then the relationship will ultimately fail again. Find out the problems first before even thinking about getting back with an ex. I am a strong believer that people can change, so don't completely give up hope in your exes just don't give them too much hope, you don't want to find yourself being disappointed and just hurting yourself over and over again.

Scratch that: in the confused, hurt weeks after a breakup I've _wanted_ some of 'em back. But once my head cleared, I realized I wanted 'em back the same way an alcoholic wants a drink.
