Why does my ex avoid answering my questions?

He was the first guy to break my heart. every time I have to tried to ask him why he did certain things, he completely dodges the question. Some of the things he did were so confusing and I told him how it affects me, but he still won't answer my questions. Does he just want to leave me hanging on purpose?

I think there was a similar question in the breakup section so I'll say the same thing:

Sometimes guys just don't like direct confrontation. I'm sure it is just as unpleasant for him to tell you 'look sorry, I just don't find you attractive anymore' or 'i did that because I like her better than you' as it is for you to hear it. So in his mind, it's probably easier to just avoid you and hope that you get the hint and/or give up and move on.

So to answer your question - no I don't think he's leaving you hanging on purpose. I think he just doesn't want to talk to you about it.

Probably, because leaving you hanging is easier than explaining his hurtful behavior to you. Some people would rather take flight rather than face the people they've hurt(if he avoids answering you then he doesn't have to deal with your pain).
