Why do guys end a relationship before it gets too serious?

When a guy asked me out and I told him yes. Then a couple days later he is asking if I wanted to break up with him and of course I told him no I didn't. And he sits there and tells me that he wants to have a long relationship with me. He keeps telling me this and all other sweet things. And I believed him. When he wanted to break up with me he tells me that he is confused and lost. And then he ask me if later down the road if we can date then?He does this when we were just getting serious. WHY?

Imo...he's too immature to be in a serious relationship.

He is what I call a "spark-chaser". Allow me to define this term.

Spark-chaser = a male or female, that falls into the pattern of dating somebody, and enjoying the excitement of meeting a new girl/guy, getting to know him/her, meeting people in her social circle, exploring sensuality and sexuality with a new body to explore and learn.

THEN when things get more serious, feelings get more involved, inevitably the excitement of the "spark" of getting to know a new person starts getting replaced with the tranquility of the "comfort" of knowing the person.

Since this person is addicted to chasing the excitement of the "spark", once it starts to fade with this girl / guy that the "spark chaser" is seeing...the person bails on that girl / guy.

Why?

Because this person is chasing "spark", the excitement of meeting someone new and the social / sexual encounters that happen with that.

A person can only be "new" for so long.

So your most recent ex is a "spark-chaser". The only way for someone to get over this, frankly, is to grow up and mature.

Unfortunately there are guys and gals in their 30s that are STILL "spark-chasers", and you wonder why they can't keep a man or woman. :(

P.S. This is part of the "nice guys finish last" dilemma. These guys go for women who are "spark chasers" and have the same feeling you do. :(
