Ex girlfriend dumped me, broke my heart, but is pissed because I don't acknowledge her?

Ex girlfriend of 6 or 7 months dumped me. I felt a bit like it broke my heart. But never showed that. I just moved on.. forgot about her and started dating someone else. She also started dating a new guy.

but now she is pissed cos I don't keep in touch and specifically because I don't even acknowledge her in public. I just go about doing my own thing or hanging with other people. Don't feel like going over to her and greeting her and making small chat. but she is quite upset about this and told me directly.

Why is this and what's your read on this people..?

If you're angry at her for breaking your heart, that's not right. Unless she broke up with you in a particularly cruel way, you can't blame her for ending the relationship when her feelings changed. It's not fair to expect her to stay with you when her heart isn't in it.

That said, I know how it feels to have your heart broken, and I understand that maybe you're not angry; you're just in too much pain to bear talking to her. If that's the case, keep your distance until you're comfortable. If you want your friendship back with this girl, it'll take time but go for it if you want to. If not, she should understand that the experience really hurt you and you're not okay with going back to the way things were.

we were friends before we dated. break up was not very cruel as such..but after she dumped me she started seeing a new guy. And during the whole first month she kept zero contact with me. Not even a text. But truthfully I don't even care about that.. I just don't see the point of meeting her or hanging with her unless its friends with benefits type situation. otherwise, its a waste of my time. I just want girl's point of view as to why its pissing her off..after all she's the one who dumped me

Actually if this was me the girl, it would be because am pissed the guy never tried to go after me and if he doesn't say hi to me in public I would be even MORE PISSED because it shows like he didn't even care...

And there is no need not to say hello to each other if you didn't show her that you were hurt so she thought that it ended on good terms...

Its been nearly a year since the break up. I was hurt before, but never really showed it. Although, I'm sure she knew. They say time heals most things. So yes I've moved on and don't really care or think about her. Its true that indifference pisses off the "dumper". I agree with you there. But why would you be more pissed if I didn't acknowledge and did my own thing. Is it cause some girls are attention needing, or an ego thing or what personality issue..?

I don't know to be honest... All I know is that am an impulsive person and I would be really pissed if my ex didn't say hello to me if we ended on good terms and specially if we were in love.. If ot was a quick casual relationship then I wouldn't care.. maybe she still cares

If she does confronts you about this again just be honest with her and let her know that you want to move on and you don't feel comfortable with talking to her anymore. You don't owe her anything. If she doesn't respect what you want then she's just being an obnoxious bitch.

She's comments too a few mutual friends about my lack of staying friends with her really gets her upset. But if I dumped a girl and I started dating a new chick, I wouldn't get upset if my ex who I dumped didn't care about me anymore or said hi.. That's what I'm trying to figure out..whats her deal? Yes, I'm thinking that she misses your company and doesn't understand why you can't be friends. She may even be regretting the breakup. I personally don't think it's a good idea for exes to try being friends right after breaking up and you're doing the right thing by avoiding her.

Some girls need to do this - they want to show case that there was no hard feelings, that they weren't the bad guy, and that we can all be mature about this.

Some girls also like the satisfaction of showing how their life is better, and gain some satisfaction from seeing that his life is not going as well, particularly if he dumped her.

Personally, I say you're doing the right thing - who cares why she's upset or why she needs to do this?

It is NOT YOUR JOB to go through life making sure she's not upset.

It's always sad to lose a friend, but that's the risk you take when you upgrade to dating as a couple.

I am a firm believer in cutting them from your life and moving on. (Them being girls you break up with.)

She just is after the attention that she thought she would get from you, and probably wants to have you there as a backup plan.

Ah yes I suppose it does. I've been in this position. What can be hard is not losing the relationship but the friend. If you don't acknowledge her this could really bother her. It might be best for her for you to just say hi but not get into any deep conversations. Thing is only you can answer this one...is it to hurtful for you to do this, if so carry on, you just can't be friends anymore
