I know it's a bit silly, my boyfriend has glandular fever, and can it only be caught from kissing? could I have given it to him if I didn't have symptoms?

No, it's not the only way, but it's the most likely way, I think. The virus, or whatever, is transmitted through saliva. So, I think, if he were to eat something that someone had spat on, or something like that, he could also get it that way. Apparently it has an incubation period of up to eight weeks, so I guess it's possible that you got it, and gave it to him, but the symptoms are showing up in him before they're showing up in you.
