I’ve already tried the long distance thing for a year. The guy cheated on me the whole entire time and on top of that, we never even met in person. Honestly, long distance relationships suck so much.

Of course, just mentioning it. What I mean is, when we distrust LDR then we can also distrust SDR (short-distance relationships) because the same cheating and abuse happens locally as well. I speak from my own experiences: 500 EUR lost to2 local people (250 each).
You have to trust the person. I much rather prefer someone near me so I can have their attention physically and I can connect with them mentally. It’s hard to do that online

My experience is different. My ex cheated on me even though he lived 10 minutes away, but my current boyfriend is extremely faithful even though he lived across the country when we met. Distance doesn't necessarily mean you're more likely to get cheated on, it only makes the cheating easier to hide. Any guy could be a cheater, that's a risk you take with dating in general
