What does it mean if a guy consistently thanks you for having dinner with him, or going out with him, or just spending time with him?

Honestly I say things like that and It means that he likes you and really appreciates you.

The reason I, personally, say thanks is because I really appreciate the person hanging out with me and spending their precious time with me.

To be more straightforward the guy thinks you are great and maybe even with an 'out of his league' vibe so he is really appreciative and polite.
This is a good guy you have here by the way so cherish him as much as he cherishes you :)

These folks here are all correct. Just make sure you, show him some appreciation too. Guys like to be appreciated. Girls aren't the only one's that hate being taken for granted. If you don't appreciate him or his efforts, just watch he'll start to with draw and then he'll magically disappear. He sounds like a keeper so far. I bet he has all sorts of good qualities. :)
