He calls always calls me nice?

This guy I really like calls me the nicest person he's ever met all of the time. I haven't done anything THAT nice tht deserves him saying tht... I'm not complaining, I love it, but it confuses me. He'll tell me I'm the nicest person he's ever met then tell a bunch of people around us tht im the nicest person ever. He has done this sooooo many times. I'm always so flattered I just smile and don't know how to react... but why would a guy constantly tell u and everyone else how nice you are? Is he just being super kind and friendly (he IS actually super friendly and nice to everyone)? Is he sort of maybe bragging about me in a way? Or is he trying to tell me something? Like tht he likes me? Or that he doesnt? Any advice would help thanks.

Guys don't usually compliment a woman like that unless he has feelings... or hopes she will swoon on him and develop feelings because he *does* like her.

If I was him and I knew a very sweet, very kind woman (It sounds like you are) I would probably fall for her a little, in a way. Nothing is more attractive to the masculine than the feminine. And if you are a caring, nurturing person, that matters. So many women today want to be the opposite of that... So when a man finds someone like you you can be a treasure.

Aww, thanks! That's so sweet of you! And I really hope that's true! He is just so outgoing and friendly that I can't tell if he likes me or is just super nice to me. There have been many signs tht have me feeling like he likes me, and others tht make me question bt not doubt it. I just wish and hope I can be brave enough to show my feelings and I hope he feels the same way at me tht I feel at him... bc he truly is very kind and sweet to me. I like how genuine he is. Good point. But what if he gives me high fives? And today at the end of class I looked over at him and he waved at me. And he compliments my talent on the instrument I play. And once he called us best friends when we aren't really...

If he called you best friends then that's most likely how he sees you. It would be strange for a guy to say that if he likes you romantically.

Another good point, and its very possible, but tht was also last year and many more things have happened since then and I have started to think he likes me... plus when he said tht last yr I hardly knew him and he said it to make another girl jealous...

And also recently my friend and I and him and his friend were talking in a circle formation nd he was standing next to me (very close) and several times he leaned over and whispered things into my ear... now they were things to tease my friend, but why would be bother to lean so close, cup his hand and whisper in my ear? When he has never done tht before or gotten so close... we aren't even close as friends... I only see him in classes..

He seems a strange character to me, for a guy. It's possible he's just very camp/open.

I don't mean this in a sexual way, just seems to me this is his personality and you shouldn't read into it so much.

Very possible, and I think you're right. It is his personality. But I can't help feeling like he likes me. there's just things he does tht convince me. My friend thinks he may like me but doesn't realize it yet which kind of makes sense... I don't know.

I think you may be over complicating it. It seems like you like him romantically.. Or that you aren't sure. Just spend more time with him if you want and you'll understand better. If not, it doesn't matter. Just assume he's just different.

Ok. How do you think I should react if/when he calls me nice or compliments me again? If u compliment a girl/her personality, how do u like her to respond?

But I feel like it's not enough. One time I did say thanks, and I felt like he was expecting more and it was kind of an awkward silence after that... but I guess I can do it again

OK after reading your other posts I realise you like him. In which case you should elaborate. For every compliment he gives you return one.

You're really nice. You could reply, not as nice as you!

You look nice today. You could reply, you don't look to bad either.

If you like him then I'm sure there's lots you can compliment him lots in different ways. This should make it pretty clear. Don't forget to show you appreciate it :)

Thanks for all of your advice! I hope to get closer to him at least as friends. Even if I don't get to be involved in a relationship with him I would love to be friends with him bc he is such a great, genuine guy. I just need more confidence to go talk to him more.

you said he was a friendly person.. so my guess is you constantly bring up how aweful of a person you are and force him to tell everyone and you how nice you actually are.

Yes, sorry I'm going to eventually. He does not have OCD. And I'm a quiet person and i do not complain about myself or force him to do anything. I'm not mean like tht. I'm talking about out of the blue. He will just randomly start telling people I'm the nicest person ever
