Why do guys like anime girls so much?

My boyfriend loves anime abd sometimes I worry the reason why he loves it so much is because of the sexual girls why do guys like those girls so much and should I worry?

Because they are cute. It's obviously over-the-top cutesy much of the time, but it's suspension of disbelief. They are just such warm and adorable characters. Often there's a bit of fan-service thrown in when the target audience is male and there are characters that are cute girls because guys are attracted to cute.

When I started watching anime, I noticed that the characters typically are more one-dimensional. They will have a more limited personality but focus more intensely on one or a few traits. Hence you end up with characters that are super cutesy, or mean and bitter all the time, or are show-offs. Some characters might also come with a bit or a gimmick, like say falling asleep randomly or taking clothes off (Gray Fullbuster).

So I was a little bothered by the one-dimensional characters at first but that's just the way they prefer to construct characters in that culture, you get used to it. Now I just think of the cute anime girls as endearing, it's a bit silly but still so cute (and I don't mind a bit of fan-service). You've got nothing to worry about, it's not like he's going to leave you for a cartoon character. This is in the same vein as "why does my bf still look at porn?" Guys are always going to think people/characters are attractive, cute or sexy. It's just not going away, ever, plain and simple. We don't have an issue with it, yet girl's apparently do. But you can't really take away what guys look at, that's really controlling. What is comes down to is that controlling a person is a real problem and is more severe than being bothered by a non-problem. To be blunt, the onus is on the girls to get over their craziness.

I used to like watching anime, USED to , till it got repetitive , got bored and I left.
I think it's an ego trip mostly , every one in anime eventually likes the protagonist , usually girls and well... that's a bit lacking in sort of that realistic PUNCH to me. It's always friendship and love will triumph , oh fuck that , let's see them LOSE for once.

So basically it's escapism, but then most of the stuff is.

As for anime girls , well all of them longing for the protagonists' pretty boy cock mostly i think.

Not all guys are drawn to anime girls. Also.. it's not just a "guy" thing.
There are females who get obsessed over male anime characters as well.
It's kind of weird but some people like sexualizing their hobbies.
For example, if you enjoy reading books, you will eventually read about a character who has a couple of attributes that you admire. You notice the development of their character and you may end up developing a small crush on him. It's not that weird. It's human.
Same thing can happen with anime, shows, movies, video-games etc.

Never got why it was such a big deal. It's oversexualized ditsy girls with tits three times the size of their brain, from how well it sells apparently that's what the average guy that age is looking for. Which is pretty well supported due to college frats and what not.
