Why are males so obsessed with Anime girls?

I don't have a problem with people liking or watching Anime, but when guys take it to the point of sleeping with body pillows of their favorite anime characters, fantasying about them and even weirder shit, it's out of hand. It's also creepy that ADULT men are obsessed with these characters that look like little girls. And to be frank, it's VERY unattractive.

It's pretty obvious; anime girls are designed to do that to their target audience.

It has to do with fantasy. Everyone can relate to fantasy in some form or the other.

These girls often come from the minds of men who can identify with the audience, which means the resulting obsession has to do with very specific appearances and personality types they perceive as extremely desirable.

The question of how far some guys take their obsession is another story though, in the same way porn addicts lose sight of a real sexual experience. Guess that's what happens when you design the perfect girl and simulate them for unsociable boys.

Ugh, I agree with you on this.

A very good friend of mine does that, and I can't stand it. I always used to think he'd grow out of it (he started as a teen), but he's in his 30's, now.

It's just fucking creepy. I just want to smack him, and tell him to grow up.

I mean, I know that with my profile picture I can't really talk here... But yeah, it is a bit creepy when grown men have the pillows and shit, then it becomes less of something fun and entertaining you watch and more of a replacement for human contact :P I do like this pillow though:

I know with my profile picture I can't really talk but I don't do any of this. These are lonely people, and are often quite ugly. So they can't find hope in reality and drift into an unrealistic world and replace human contact with all of these pillows. It's not disgusting in my opinion, it's quite saddening.
