I think the answer to "why not" has a pretty strong bearing on whether it's weird. If it's just "it makes me uncomfortable" then I'll go with "weird." Keep in mind that as far as "weird" goes, that's pretty mild, and unless your bf likes to go shirtless, is unlikely to be a problem.
