Why would a guy go out of his way to ignore you?

Why would a guy go out of his way to ignore you? There's this guy who likes me and the last time we met he was going out of his way to ignore me. I saw him brooding silently (he didn't know I was looking at him). I tried to talk to him but he was being sarcastic and looked irritated with me but started blushing really hard as soon as he saw me. I left thinking that maybe he just needed some space and wasn't in the mood to talk to me.

Is he mad at me? Or have I hurt his feelings somehow?

Probably nervous or confused as to where your relationship it headed. I get that way when im thinking about the future sometimes
