What does it mean when a guy walks you to your bus at the end of a date?

Our date was 5 hours long and at the end he walked me to the bus and waited until it arrived until he left

I kept telling him that he didn't have to stand and wait for me to get the bus, but he insisted and hugged me bye before got on the bus...

It means that he's somewhat chivalrous and has the makings of a decent guy. It means he cares about your safety and about not leaving you standing there on your own.
