And why? Opinions are appreciated :) and this question aims at guys but girls can answer too.

Absolutely not.

Yes, looks fade, but that doesn't remove the importance of physical attraction. You want to spend your prime years with somebody who you are wholly attracted to on a physical (and sexual) level, since it further inspires and supports a healthy bond in a relationship. Once you fall in love, looks matter a little less as time goes on, especially when you're both old - but even then, by that time you'll likely still find the beauty in that person.

Being with somebody you're not attracted to will create a divide in your relationship. You won't feel as comfortable or interested in physical intimacy, which will create issues with you and your partner who will inevitably feel offended or hurt by your lack of intimate interest. Not to mention no one wants to feel like their partner doesn't find them attractive, so it's best to go with somebody you actually find good looking at least to some extent.

No, physical/sexual attraction is a must. But this doesn't mean that they have to be good-looking, I usually get attracted to "ugly" guys. I think it's because they are aware that they can't play "the looks" card so they have to rely on their personality. There's something very sexy about their personality that sexually turns me on. But of course this doesn't mean all "ugly" guys are like that... most of them become very introvert, negative and shy after receiving many rejections because they're not "hot". I don't like those, the same way I don't like "hot" guys who think their looks is all that matters and that they just need to show their body. So unattractive.

Of course personality, character and chemistry is the most important things, but if I don't see anything attractive on the guy, then I wouldn't be able to date him.
I have to be at least attracted to him at some degree.

Only in a friendly date, like buddies. But I'd widen the attraction up to make another question that includes this one: "Would you date someone you're not attracted to?"

If it is about having something, the attraction factor must be there, and it is a complex matter made by both physical and personality / intangible elements.

All this said, I think someone could be really attracted to some other person even though she/he is not that physically attractive (but not repulsive) for the former.

Usually doesn't work and if it does it usually will be over compensated by other means to balance out the lack of attraction. Also the person wouldn't be at their happiest that will catch up eventually because she/he will bump into people that give them a sense of excitement because of the attraction

Well i did like a guy who wasn't that attractive. sometimes id look at his face and think ''ew why do i like him'' but then sometimes he'd look cute. but i know why i liked him and it was because of his personality.
