Seems like an embarrassment emoji to me. I like using ^^; but I usually use it to mean, like... If you remember old Looney Tunes cartoons, when Elmer Fudd points his gun at Bugs or Daffy and they'd go "Aheheh, aheh..." I imagine myself as a cartoon making that embarrassed laugh sound and that face. Anime does it pretty often too when something said is embarrassing or unbelievable or nervous or high-pressure.

Maybe he sees a different meaning in it. Or maybe he finds flirting to be high-pressure nervous embarrassment. Afraid you won't be into what he's saying, ya know? Look at it this way, 1) at least he's trying, and 2) he regards you highly enough to be worried you won't like what he says.

i have but he works every day after school until 7 and he has baseball and then homework and by the time everything's done he he's to go to sleep. Saturday's he works and goes to baseball all day, and Sunday he has church, homework, and more family time
