I matched with my ex's friend on Tinder, twice over?

So, a few weeks ago I was on tinder and I came across one of my ex's close friends. This friend has never met or seen me. I swiped right just to see what would happen and it was a match. I texted my ex and told him (we're still on relatively good terms) and he got a kick out of it. He messaged the friend that I matched with and told him I was his ex, as he had no idea, and he got a kick out of it too (and started apologizing for how "awkward" it was). But this friend also commented on how attractive I was during these texts between him and my ex (my ex showed me screenshots). When all this happened, his friend unmatched me. I ended up deleting my account that day to take a break. I reopened my account yesterday and within minutes, I came across my ex's friend again. Just out of curiosity, I swiped right again to see if he did as well. It wasn't a match. But this morning, he matched with me. We haven't said anything to each other yet. Why would he swipe right after he knew I'm his friend's ex, and if it was supposedly "awkward" for him the first time? What should I say to him, if I say anything?

I think he just said it was awkward because that's what's expected of him considering your his friend's ex... but because he swiped right with you again there may be underlying intentions that he may not want your ex to know about or he's just as curious as you are and wanted to see if you reswiped him

Because he attraction for you clearly outweighs the loyalty he feels to your ex.
I'd go for him. Your ex seems chill about it and even then it shouldn't matter

if is your ex, his friend should not feel awkward pursuing a relationship with you especially since your ex told him about match so not jealous
