Relationship vs. Dating exclusively?

Guy asked if I wanted us to date exclusively. We agreed this meant no talking to other people and no hiking up with other people. Usually I go straight to dating to gf/bf relationship. What's the difference between dating exclusively and a bf/gf relationship?

I would say that dating exclusively is the stage before a relationship. The one more thing for it to become a relationship is to have known each other long enough to get the feeling it becomes a long term story :D
I disagree with the "no talking to other people" though... maintaining your social contacts with guys & girls is important, the only thing you shouldn't do it flirt :o
