That is some serious advice sir. I will take note of that moving forward in life. I've noticed many young men like me deciding to stay out of marriage. I might also follow suite If the state keeps on interfering as much as it currently is in an institution that was originally more of a religious/spiritual covenant than legal.

@Joti_Harrison - There is certainly legitimate fears about committing to a woman and risk of divorce. If you already have substantial assets a pre-nup is mandatory. Unfortunately, if you get caught under weird circumstances, like children of your own or not, or a spouse that doesn't work, you could suffer substantial financial loss or liability for divorcing them - REGARDLESS of who's fault it is.

Today, there is no stigma for a woman to cheat and bail. Regardless of WHY she did it, it is the fault of the husband. There is never any wrong-doing assigned to this scenario. She cheats cuz he's an asshole. She cheats cuz she's bored. He cheats cuz she shuts down sexually. No matter how it plays out, she gets cash and prizes if they split.

Well that needs to stop! If she cheats, game over! Plus at divorce, the only thing a man should be contributing to is support for his/her children. Perhaps, some contribution towards her living costs if she is the main care giver. But it needs to stop, once the youngest reaches school age. Marriages are partnerships, with equal flows of give and take. I feel like today the sexes look upon each other like the enemy, and always have their defences up. It's no way to have a relationship. You should feel like your partner has your back again the trials and tribulations of everyday life, and is a place of comfort and support to come to.

@Poppykate - Well that's all fine and good but not the reality today. Each state is a little different, but for most, if the wife isn't working then a split means the husband pays alimony plus child support. And child support continues until the children reach 18 years.

And you're right, people are all lovey-dovey 'till they're not and the it's on. The courts are slanted in favor of the women, and not just a little bit. Plus, most states are no-fault, so regardless of who cheated or why, the woman gets half or more plus support.
