I can't seem to forgive my boyfriend for calling me a "witch"?

We were on a trip at a resort and I had a couple of beers before we went into the hot tub. There was a little girl about 6 years old and I started to chat with her. We got along great and she didn't seem to like my boyfriend so I teased him since I was a little tipsy, so I said, "Yeah, he's a freak!" He made fun of himself too and said, "Yeah, I am the frog." (as the frog from The Princess and the Frog). Then he said, "But she is a witch!" The little girl defend me by saying, "No she's a princess!" Because I really am a princess. I have a big heart, kind, sweet and giving. On top of that, I am really really really beautiful. I am bilingual, tall and skinny. My friends say there would be countless men lined up outside of my door to date me. He's really lucky to have me. Now I just can't seem to get over the fact that he called me a witch. I am not a witch and I don't think I deserved hearing that. I don't want that to happen again, and I can't seem to find a way to forgive him. No boy has ever called me a bad name or treated me badly before. They all have treated me with respect, loyalty, devotion and honesty. I really want to break up with him... I feel really disrespected. I don't know what to do. He is a nice boyfriend but he should have never called me that. What do I do?

No offense, but you sound like the definition of a bitch or a brat. Think of what you're saying "he called me a witch. I am not a witch and I don't think I deserved hearing that." "No boy has ever called me a bad name or treated me badly before. " He isn't treating you badly. He's being sarcastic and if you can't deal with sarcasm. Then good luck having a relationship in the future.

I am talking about the relationship right now, not the one in the future. I jokingly called him a freak because he is freaky, as in "bed". We all knew that before. I guess I shouldn't have said that next to the third party, but I really genuinely tried to make it up by saying how great he was afterwards. He really took it too far by calling me a witch in all serious sense and didn't say anything great about me after.

Is this for real? you sound a bit... cocky. It's pretty clear that he was joking around. He shouldn't have to bow down to your feet 24/7 and call you princess should he? Couples should be able to mess around without getting offended like you have here

You were playing a game with the little girl, and you called him a freak first. Why is it OK for you to call him a freak but he can't call you a witch? Especially since it fits perfectly with the game you were playing with the girl by calling each other different fantasy characters.

From the sound of your post he was joking but I think he may actually be correct based on your reaction

Maybe he knows something you don't. Try kissing him. If he turns into a handsome prince, you should suspect yourself of witchcraft. If he stays a normal guy who occasionally says something you don't like, you'll know you're not a witch and you shouldn't take him (or yourself) so damn seriously.

I think the term "witch" came up when the metaphor of "the Frog" came up. You know, fairy tales of Princes turned into Frogs by Witches, and all that. You are making too big a deal of it.
