My boyfriend can't forgive himself, what do I do? Please help?

My boyfriend cheated on me a while back. While it really hurt me, I let it go and forgave him for it. I've forgiven him and want to move forward with our relationship, he can't seem to forgive himself. He hates himself for cheating on me. He feels so guilty he's cried nearly everyday since then even in front of me, something he's never done before. Every time he looks at me he looks afraid like I'll leave him. I love this man more than any words could ever say, how do I help him forgive himself or at least let him know I forgive and I won't leave him? He just looks so broken, I see it when I look into his eyes. He's always so confident, it breaks my heart to see him so hurt and vulnerable. What can I do?

This is why cheating has no place in relationship (unless consented to). There is no "moving forwards" after someone cheats because trust has been broken and either the person who was cheated on will always be suspicious or lack trust in their partner, or the person who cheated will always be reminded by what they have done when they see their partner.

don't waste your time, the relationship is broken and irreparable. i know from experience, once a cheater, always a cheater and you cannot fix or change a man.

tell him to gt over it basically... since you forgave him... why he acts like that?

He just still feels really guilty. I don't know how to help him get over it. I haven't started telling him I love him again or kissing him at all since it happened, you think that could be why he still feels guilty?
