He played me for 6 months?

He ended up hurting me not once nor twice but three times. I'm knew to this dating thing, and this was the first guy I've ever had strong feelings for. I was blind to see the red flags. I developed the feelings, because we would dance together. I waited for him, I made up excuses for him. He knew how much I liked to dance, and even wrote me a letter asking me to a dance then claims he had to "work". I came across a video of the spring fling and he was in it with another girl. He never taken me out on a date, he always "talked" about it. But I can't get over him, I liked him. Now I'm worried I won't be able to find anyone to share my life with to grow and better ourselves. It seems like guys get interested in me then quit talking to me, it hurts but now I'm used to it. Why can't I find anyone else? Why don't men ever talk to me? Is it because I'm shy?
