Being a big sports fan myself, especially a basketball fan, I prefer dating a girl who is sporty, either plays sports or even watches NBA basketball. I don't really believe in the whole, opposites attract theory, I strongly believe two people in a relationship have to have common interests so that they can enjoy their time together.
I have seen this happen many times, especially girls I have dated where I tried to catering to those specific girls who hate sports, who are extremely girly and dramatic, who don't care about politics, who don't care about traveling and it was hard to hold down a civil conversation with them without getting mad or frustrated, leading to arguments.
Sorry if I had to step outside the box with this question but the reason why I brought this up is that at the end of the day it is important. Now sure, there will be guys and girls who don't like sports and they may like other things, by all means, what works for you go with it. But I am not going to just settle in life to find a girl, I hope that girl who I hopefully will be with will be strong, ambitious, caring, enjoys basketball and is funny.
I definitely would enjoy dating a woman that could actually keep up with me most of the women I have dated in the past have been pretty fair but not physically fit I enjoy climbing hiking biking swimming and a lot of other things that keeps me in good condition because of the fact that I love to make women extremely happy in all kinds of ways and if I wasn't in good shape I wouldn't be able to make them all happy,, just saying

Anyway, I'd date a girl that liked sports. That would be a neutral aspect of their personality to me, but I'd be a little more reluctant if they liked e-sports in particular. Or really if their love of sports was just toxic, as I've found many e-sports communities tend to be.
So I've noticed! I always get confused when I see questions directed at guys, but girls can answer anyway. Some of them clearly didn't intend girls to answer while some it's unclear. D

Hellz yeah! Sports are my life and always have been. So if she loved them too, it would be that much awesome, but she doesn't have to. Just as long as she respect my love for it and doesn't think it's a waste of time spending hours a week watching, reading articles on it., and not wanna miss a single game of the teams that I love.
Absolutely. It shows they take care of their health, and they might be adventurous so you could do all kinds of fun sporty or thrill seeking activities. These are most of the kinds of girls I've been going on dates with.

Spotty person would be much preferable because she would understand pros and cons of a game would refer the same in real life. And more she will be my gaming partner. So, why shouldn't I pick a sporty girl ?
It doesn't matter. It's just one of those "extra perks" to have but it's not in a list of qualities to look for in a woman. In other words, it's one of those "O wow, you like to watch/play sports?" but it's the last thing on my mind to look for in a woman.
It's not about being sporty. The girl should be active of some sorts like dancing, athletics, swimming or something. If she's sporty, then guys don't mind cause we're getting some amazing sex as well. Dating a sporty girl does have its ups but don't forget, if she ever makes it big, your face is gonna be on the news as well guys. Me, personally don't like the exposure, but it is still fun to have her with you. An energetic human being for company.
There's a big difference difference between someone who just watches sports while chugging a gallon of beer/soda and someone who plays sports. I'd be more into the one who plays a sport.
It would be a bonus because I'm athletic and I'm into sports. However, I won't refuse to date a girl if she's not into sports either. Most of the girls I've dated in the past weren't into sports.
It's irrelevant as far as my choice in woman, but it's definitely a plus. However, if she is unwilling to do physical activities with me then that's a deal breaker.
However I do plenty of outdoor activities and she is feeling a little more active I may have her take a jog with me or something. Nothing that will loose that ass.
I prefer sporty but not stuff like rugby either. It's a big too manly for me. Boxing is fine to me though (probably because i did it for some time) But there are some sport that just turn me off.
For me it just depends, I'm into certain sports but don't really like others, though I'd imagine if I was going out with someone who was really passionate about something, say a sport, I may pick it up as well.

I like sporty women. Those with an interest and those who play competitive sports. But whether i'd prefer them over non sporty women, all depends on the woman in question.
I think sporty girls are cute, it's just that I'm a lazy POS myself, and I hate sports. Cannot watch any for the life of me, and exercise usually is no fun for me besides longboarding.

It doesn't matter either way. I like tennis so it'd be cool if we could hang out at times when I practice, but I also enjoy video games a lot, so I guess really it depends on what interests we share and how hardcore we are about those things.
@curiousaf123 Of course it's possible for females to participate in some sport and maintain a feminine physique... The point is though, if a female does intense strength-training, and she has enough testosterone in her body, she will become somewhat masculine looking. Also, if she does enough intense cardio, her body will harden and lose it's feminine shape and softness.
a woman does not have to be femenine because she is a woman, and a man does not have to be masculine because he is a man. people can be who they want, and if you think a girl cannot be masculine because she Is a girl, then you need to rethink. people do not have to conform to social norms.
