When a guy says he's 'open', what does it really mean?

If on his profile, he writes that 'he is open' and looks for a date that is 'open-minded'.

What does it really mean? Does he mean he is only for open relationships?

I would ask him. a lot of people both men and women are very closed minded about so many things, be it religious beliefs, political preferences, drinking / smoking, etc etc.

maybe his past relationships have been very closed minded to his ideas or expressed thoughts and he felt that he couldn't be himself. best bet is to ask without judgement and show you're willing to accept them at face value.

keep in mind that other people's opinions are biased, mostly to their own way of thinking, and to them "open-minded" means bisexual, unfaithful, or want to sexually explore. These opinions are projections and not always facts. so if you want thw facts you'll just have to ask him yourself 😆

I would NOT take it to mean he wants an 'open relationship'. That's something different.
