Is exclusive with no title a thing?

I did this once in college. The guy I was sleeping with had asked me not to sleep with other dudes while seeing eachother. That wasn't my style so wasn't a big deal, but that was about 7rs ago, and a lot has changed in dating culture. I really like this guy I've started seeing, like a lot. But I just got out of a relationship and am not emotionally ready to get into a new relationship. But at the same time I don't want him going anywhere. I want to ask him if he'd be willing to be exclusive but also give me time before we dive deep I to a relationship.

I just want to make sure I go in with a clear mind and whole heart.

the worst thing that can happen is him saying no. that being said if you two are loyal to each other, how is it different than a relationship? no relationship starts deep. it's built up bit by bit

I don't see any problem with what you are proposing! if he cares for you he will understand

You could just say that you want a relationship, but you want to take it VERY slow. It would be essentially the same thing, but it would sound a hell of a lot more appealing to him.
