Of course! Usually it was me who wrote them. And consider that before the internet and email, it was normal for people to actually write on paper before the mid-90s! LOL In school we wrote notes, left letters for each other - even if it was girl-friends to girl-friends. But to guys we liked, we did that too. In my 20s it continued, and it was always well-received. I think the online culture has killed a lot of that, unfortunately. With short text messages or only a certain amount of characters in a tweet - people don't express themselves in words the same way anymore, and it's too bad. Email is fine, but it's not the same as a hand-written note, when I know that person's hand touched this paper and wrote these words. It just seems so much more real. :)

I received love letters when I was younger.. 😳 Didn't know how to react though, lol. I never really sent a love letter.. But, the day I'll fall in love, I'll surely write a love letter to him. I love this concept! It's more romantic than expressing your love via phone call or texting 😅

yes, the guy I dated my senior year of high school joined the army after we graduated, so we wrote to each other to keep in touch. It wasn't enough for me and I dumped him but at first it was sweet.

Yeah, it was for my first girlfriend. She was always concerned that I would cheat on her, and if I remember correctly, the letter went along the lines of, "if you ever doubt my faith in you, read this letter" blah blah blah. We broke up like 2 or 3 weeks later because her jealousy got out of hand and it turned me off to her.

At the time, I thought the letter would reassure her, but I quickly learned afterwards that nothing would, and I didn't have time to deal with her paranoid drama.

I make sure that every person that I am in a serious relationship gets a well thought out love letter that perfectly expresses my feelings for them with out using any thing from any previous letter for every serious occasion that we are together for. (aniversaries, birthday and major holidays)
