I think its one of the most beautiful ways of expressing your feelings to/for someone. Even if its a rap, it can still be poetic. I’ve written many that i never sent out. I’ve only written one that I actually read aloud to that someone. He was flattered but too lazy to ever write something especially for me in return. Yet he deemed himself a rapper. Ugh, trashass dudes i tell ya. But yea, I did receive love letters from some dudes in a military school that my ex tried to hook me up with when he was sent there (and wanted them to be his way of making up for he wronged me). But they were all crazy jealous and turned out to be just like him. I hate he ever gave them my mailing address lmao #FeelFreeToList
Yes, When I was dating there was no e-mail or video conferencing. I used to write my girlfriend at least once a week. I would sit in the library on Sunday night and write whatever was on my mind. Usually 2 or 3 pages. Then after I sealed the envelope I would put some lyrics from a song or a couple of lines from a poem.
I received several and only wrote one. Music, drawing and painting is how I would express my self. There's been several times that I've heard and song and sent it to someone because it reminded me of them. Songs from Neo , Joe , Avant, Music soulchild , Common etc. Whatever hits me at the time.

Yea its a tv show and every episode they spit. Eve is still the shit and still in my top 3 female Rappers (the other two being Da Brat and Nicki Minaj.) As for Brandy, she has bars to be a singer and not a rapper but i just hate how deep and hoarse her rap voice sounds

I've written 2 sonnets for 2 girls and both dumped my ass within the coming weeks. I had the top 2% for in literature on SAT scores in my state in 2008. I don't write shittily when it comes to that. So when I spend a long time pouring my heart and emotions out and basically getting a hand slap for the effort I stopped. But I plan to write for a girl again. Maybe if I find the right one. I'll take her to a great place to wine and dine her, go to a park that evening after the sun has gone down all the way and read it. Then lol the question and get down ony knee for her. Have candles and roses waiting back at my place. Have a little trail leading to the bedroom. Yes! I think they are important. It’s something you can keep rather than just a text message or phone call. Putting in the effort to let someone know how you feel is crucial in a relationship. If you are getting them from someone you aren’t dating, they are putting a lot of time and effort into writing that for you and probably have feelings for you.

Not a poem or a letter, but I did write a song for a guy I had a crush on during my sophomore year in high school. I never showed it to him though, but it's a song that will always have a very special meaning to me.

No, not really. I can be pretty effective with words , sometimes powerful, sometimes overwhelming, but the poetry I write is never addressed to anyone. A lot of times it's just describing an experience, the experience that inspired the art of describing it , some being erotic.

First of all, it wasn't one bad apple, unfortunately. But the baddest one was when I fell in love with this one girl, and I pored my heart out to her. Then I found out she was only with me to make her ex jealous. Not only that, but a few days from that moment, she broke up with me to be with said ex, and told everyone some stupid reason for breaking up, where I ended up as the guilty party. And she got together with her ex two days after breaking up with me. I mean, no one believed her, but still...

Yes I did. Many times, and it was when I was still a kid. Never appreciated or reciprocated. Made me feel like crap that girls would say they liked something or thought something was romantic. Then, boom. Laughing in your face in front of all their friends. Kinda hope they have dead beat husbands now. Ok, maybe not, but putting your heart out there for them to step on it is pretty rough.

Not quite that much no. I'm talking anxiety attacks almost nightly over a lot of this same thing. Love was never explained to me realistically, only biblically as fam has no experience except for their marriages. So it was more of a whimsical venture where it all works out in the end in my mind so the acts I planned out would be with God in heart. I used to intertwine the two. As "God is love" right? But as feelings and reading into both changed some perspective I came to other conclusions. Currently at a stand still in life so I've decided to not conclude on either for me because concluding on them has only brought me to extreme lows and confusion with the only help going as far as "pray about it".
Yes. Be careful who you write them to - I write poetry for fun so I didn’t realize what a big deal it is to people. Only do it if you’re actually good at writing poetry and don’t be surprised if you get strong reactions.
Back in my simp days (highschool where I thought we all were normal Across 3 days I slipped 3 different poems writing my myself into this girl's locker. After she started talking about it to me I admitted it was me and she just went " oh ok" and proceeded to tell me about some Chad she liked and thought wrote the poems.

It's not dumb for anyone else, and I didn't know my place at the time but looking back it was one of the dumbest things I ever did. I got made fun of so bad I didn't finish middle school and I went to a high school of the opposite side the city.
