I would not necessarily say that, it could be that he is looking for a mommy to take care of him. At what point in the relationship was this asked of you? If it was the first date run!! If you have been dating for a while and things are progressing then yes he could be looking at the next step in the relationship. I guess I might ask why he is asking!!

+1 yIt depends on the guy. Personally if he is trying to date you or get to know you, this is just a general question. You do not have to cook to be a wife, but I will say that having a significant other (male or female) who can is definitely a plus. Cooking is just another topic that he might find a connection with you.

I think he just want to know if you can cook, lol. I do cook a little bit and I've cooked for guys before, but cooking for them signifies you care about them. Cooking kind of solidifies the relationship so if you want to be his wife then keep cooking :)

+1 yNot necessarily! He might just be asking, guys like food and really like the girls who can cook. Let's face it from centuries women who can cook are preferred more than the women who can't. Men nature.

Being wife material doesn't mean that you can cook or know how to clean the house. In my opinnion it's just curiosity to learn more about the person you are dating.

Just like if he asks if you do laundry he’s asking if you can operate a washing machine.00 Reply

40 ReplyFor me, it possibly can be:
- I want tout talk about cooking (i. e. tell my favorite food)
- I'm feeling like I'm hungry and so m'y thoughts went in "food mode"
- If I'm talking to a girl whom I'm interested with, then yes, it's for a more serious purpose.
Excuse my English. Please, do correct me.01 Reply- 2.8K opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yno. it's a sign that he is curious. your answer may factor into his consideration of you as a potential partner though but the question itself doesn't necessarily indicate that he considers you wife material... in my opinion

+1 yIt means he wants to know if you can cook. Nothing else.
I highly doubt most men use if a woman can cook as a reason or not to marry her. It’s the modern age. Or maybe he does. Guys?12 Reply- +1 y
Me personally like to hear when a woman says she can cook, it means she has not alienated her self completely from normal and it also means that she is a multilayered person with different interests. I know how to make a few meals that are not too complicated and would like to hear that she knows the same or is at least willing to learn so we can do it together sometimes. The more you know the more your worth, I mean that in a good way, not a materialistic one.

+1 yIt's a sign that he wants to know if you can cook. Some guys want a housewife and would want to know for that, but some guys just wonder about the skills and abilities of their girlfriends.

+1 yNot necessarily. Sometimes it's genuine curiosity. My wife isn't the greatest cook but that's not important to me as I prepare a draft cook the majority of our meals and love grilling. If you can cook that's great, it's like any other skill.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt means he is looking to hire you as his personal cook.
00 ReplyDepends on the situation he asked it in. He's most likely just trying to get to know you better, or just wants to have dinner with you at your place. If you've been a couple for a while, he may be considering you as wife material
00 ReplyNaw, having a woman who can cook is important to a man. There's nothing more special than coming home to a woman who knows how to cook for a her man. It's one way of keeping a man.
20 ReplyNo it’s just a getting to know you question. Stop overthinking
30 ReplySo many girls cannot cook which means a lot of money being spent on going out. Let's face it, money issues kills every relationship.
00 Reply322 opinions shared on Dating topic. No. That alone is not enough to deduce whether someone see's you as wife material. The information you have presented alone isn't enough to deduce anything.
00 Reply3.7K opinions shared on Dating topic. Wife material? Now THAT is funny. It's probably to see if he can scam out of cooking and have you do it
