  • I'm going to be dating someone pretty soon who has a dysfunctional family and rough past. I plan on being there for her.

    • I also did but in the end, her family never accepted me so she said she has to listen to her family

  • Haha, I'm from a dysfunctional family. I was abused as a child and had to go to the hospital as a teenager because of depression and schizophrenia (I started developing schizophrenia after awful abuse one time - I'm not naturally crazy lol).
My boyfriend was adopted, and his parents aren't the most loving people.
It makes it hard when you see someone suffer, but in a relationship, you're there to support the person. Just because you've come from a harsh past doesn't mean you can't pave the way for the future to become something beautiful.

  • Depends what you mean, mentally dysfunctional? Then yeah, if the person doesn't because of that then he's scared of you're gene's or just an asshole, if y'all fight a lot then y'all need to sit the fuck down and talk shit out like a family, it shouldn't be hard to get along.

  • I assume the girl isn't dysfunctional? If so i don't care, if you truly love someone their family isn't a problem.

  • People out here saying “no”. I come from a bad childhood... it has taught me many things, and I’ve come out a better person than many who have an average life. So, take your opinion and shove it😘

  • I tried it and it had been a huge factor of how my ex and I's relationship was tourn apart besides our own issues. Our immediate family did not get along whatsoever and I mostly took it to heart. I knew it wasn't going to work from that point on.

  • Both my boyfriend and I have dysfunctional families and it has absolutely no effect on our relationship... so yes, depending on what the dysfunction was, I suppose.
