How many years is to much for an age gap?

This isn’t for me personally, I’m just wondering on other peoples opinions.

My girlfriend is 8 years older than me. We've had our differences but in general we're pretty happy.
There are just things you have to accept. For example, she's had more partners than me but then everyone's had more partners than me. She also makes more money than me as she's been settled into her career a few years longer than me. Also when we moved in together, I moved into her apartment since it's a lot bigger, again a result of being on the cusp of your thirties as opposed to your early-twenties boyfriend.

On the plus side? She's told me that I tire HER out with how much I'm ready for sex all the time, which is a kinda nice change of pace from what's typical of most couples (guy gets tired and girl is unsatisfied). I'm a lot more optimistic than the other guys she's dated (I met her ex-fiance, not a nice fellow) and I've got FAR less baggage than anyone she's dated. I have no exes, no kids, no real past relationship issues or bad habits. I'm also young and I've got a lot of ambition and a lot of goals for myself. One of which I'm currently in the process of making happen (starting a company) which is part of why I make less money as well. Starting a company takes time... and work... and money. But it's doable.
You learn a lot from each other too. I'm a lot wiser and smarter for my years than one would expect (as she and others have told me) and she's pretty much where she's at mentally so really it's like we're the same age mentally. She born in the late eighties and I love a lot of shit from the eighties. Who the fuck else would listen to Chicago and MJ with me and watch old Friday The 13th and Halloween copies with me? Also Dark Crystal.

I believe after 25, if you look the same as another person who is much older or much younger, it doesn’t even matter how much... as long as the difference is not visibly obvious...

Sometimes you’re the same age as someone else, and one looks wayyy older than the other, that looks awkward.. more Han if you two were actually years apart and looking the same age...

Not like you walk around with giant numbers at the top of your head letting people know the difference...

If it doesn’t show in appearance I don’t think the number in between matters.

That’s my opinion.

And if I have to say a number.. I’ll go with 10bei g the limit... but again, if it doesn’t show in appearance, it really does not matter.

It varies based on the societal norms of where you reside. In other words, age gap is fiction. What matters is if you like what you see and feel when you're together as long as it follows the law. What if you're 21 but have an old soul and people your age annoy you and you get along with 30 year olds? What if people live longer and plastic surgery gets better. You could be 70 but look 40 and no one would look at you weird if you were with a guy the same age. Divorces are at an all time high and most people get married to someone close in age so what does that mean?

If we are speaking in a legal aged relationship I would see 10 years tops and that is if the guy or girl is 50 and the person is 40. i would say if you are in you twenties maybe 5 or 7 years just because you need something to talk about. Being with a 30 something year old you can still relate to them.

Speaking solely about adults, it depends on the indivduals (for people under 18, I would say no more than 2 years). Biological age and certainly maturity don't always match up to chronological age.

depends, this is what i have seen in my own life of what is acceptable and what is not. feel free to agree or disagree, this is just my experience.
*if he's older*
if 13 or under
then you must be in the same grade level
if 14-18
then you should be within 2 grade levels of eachother,
i. e sophomore dating a senior
if 16-20
they must have been together before his 18th birthday and they must be within 2-3 years of eachother, and he must not turn 21 before she turns 18
i. e, he's 19, she's 17, but they met when he was 17 and she was 15
if 18+
no limit, though you might get some weird stares if you start to have a gap that is noticeable,
i. e 40 year old and a 20 year old
*if she's older*
if 13 or under
same grade lever
if 14-18
no limit
if 16-20
no limit
if 18+
no limit but again, the stares when it gets to a point where it is noticeable may be disapproving but not illegal.

20 year olds may not be with 16 year olds under any circumstance but 19 year olds with 16 year olds is acceptable

In my opinion age gap matters less and less the older you get the reason why I think that a lot of people have issues with age gaps is not really because of age it's so but the maturity between those gaps, I don't believe in age gaps between adults but I do between minors like if someone is 18 and dating a 14yr I find issues in that, but if someone is 18 and dating a 17 yr old or possibly even a 16 yr old then personally I feel that's okay but that's my opinion, by the time the person is out of high school if they were to develop a brand new relationship with someone still in high school younger than them then I also see that as a red flag I believe that if someone is 19 20 21 22 Etc and cannot find someone in their adult age range to be in a relationship with then I think that there are some personal mental and moral issues with that. But for adults I don't think that age Gap again matters I think it's more of a maturity gap

I think it is more about the state of your life than the age. For example, if your both studying or if you are both working. For a young person this would obviously change quickly and an age gap is a bigger deal there. But if you have old people with let's say one is 70 and one is 80 then it suddenly doesn't matter anymore.

obviously for me I won't go younger than 18. On the older side I don't care as long as there is a romantic connection. Obviously I won't go for someone 25+ years older as that is double my age (47+) and that would make it really hard to begin with. Though I wouldn't flat out deny them I would see how I felt and decide from there.

Currently i see people born in 2004 too young and people born in 1999 too old, but that's only for now. Me and my friends were talking about the exact same thing about a week ago, and they said that with age, the age gap is far wider than now. So if this friend of yours is intrested in someone with and age gap compared to them, then it doesn't really matter, if they get through this early point of life, then it won't be seen as any sort of inconvinience latee on in life.

4~5 baby and young kid
6~8 baby and old kid
9~13 baby and puberty
14~17 baby and teenager
18+ baby and adult
Up to 23 is best for up to 3 and after 23 up to 5 years.

lol my best friend is 71 and she and I just had this conversation that if she was 20 years younger we would totally be together. she is the best woman I have ever met to date. even our arguments are cute and end up with a hug. I think the age gap comes at when can one realistically give responsible consent. so that both parties are willingly in the relationship at all times.

After 22 years old, the formula is that a man "should" date people half his age plus seven as a minimum. So, for me, that would be [(36/2) + 7]=25. The minimum age I should date is 25.

I've gone under that minimum a few times, but only for "fun". Never looking for a relationship.

Depends on the individuals. There is no set gap or formula. But if you want a long-term relationship, you do have to figure whether you want to take care of an infirm person when you're in your 40's. And whether you want to raise high school kids by yourself even though your partner lived a normal lifespan.

Your age, divided by 2, plus 7.
For example; If you're 20, that's (20:2)+7 = 17
Generally that'll be the formula for the lowest acceptable age gap. Of course exceptions could occur, but in general the formula can be trusted.

I think beyond 10. Once you are 20 and he is 30, that is enough. If you want to have a family, and you are say, 28, that means he is flirting with 40. Not a lot of guys want to start getting into raising a family that late in life.

Depends a lot on intentions and what age each party is. If I'm 20 and she's 40 I wouldn't go in with the expectation of long term. Might happen, doubt it. If he's 25 and she's 18 then long term is more likely, but still during that time she'll probably be in uni and he's working so they are going to have different mindsets.
