Guys (and girls).. How does a regular girl compete with Instagram model girls?

Question

I know guys follow all these Instagram models, and tbh they're so beautiful, even when they aren't trying for perfect angles. I don't think I'm ugly, but I'm pretty small and even some of these teen models look like grown women.

What can a regular girl like me do to stand out and not feel like there's always better options?

Regular girls already have something that the models don't: a tangible personality. Those models are just photos appearing on a screen. Boys that are actually worth something to girls will care more about the personality of those girls and clicking with them when it comes to a relationship.

I know this probably hasn't quieted your fears because if the same thing was said to me (a very insecure teen girl), it wouldn't really help. So, there are a few things you can do to compete with instagram models.

I am just like you. This year, I was very self conscious about my appearance, and I am a bit small too, so I don't have the amazing curves of instagram models. Then, I hazardously set my sights on a guy that was really out of my league. To get his attention, I started dressing like all the girls around me and really getting into fashion trends.

That's what I would reccomend for you. I changed my style completely to something I still thought was appealing but was too lazy to put the effort into during my life before that. In doing that, I attracted the guy who is my boyfriend right now, and he is absolutely amazing. So, I definitely reccomend dressing like the girls that are considered popular or hot around you or just dressing on trend.

Another thing I did was embrace myself, and it really works. This relates back to the thing I said about personality. Just be confident and be 100% who you are as a person. For me, that meant I could be a total nerd and a geek and extremely quirky when I wanted to be. Guys began to like me because they were attracted to these qualities about me even though some of them sound like they would actually repulse them. They didn't because I owned them and made my pride in them show.

You’ll stand out for being genuine and down to earth. I mean look around you, do you see Instagram models out in the real world? Nobody looks that flawless in the every day life. Of course there will always be someone that will be better looking, have more curves, be taller, etc. But you have to know your worth and be confident in the positive qualities that you do have and that will attract the right guys’ attention.

just be honest and be yourself, be bold and show who you really are! If you like something show it! If you like colors be bold! If you are shy show a shy face, if you like to giggle, show you giggling! All those girls know how to do is turn on sexy. Turn on your personality! Show guys that they can have fun with you! That's a great key and I think facial expressions are extremely helpful in this. But try going in that direction. Focus on what you do have and not what you dont

Those models usually follow the business-enforced "beauty standards", which a lot of guys don't even find very attractive, if at all.
I don't know you personally, but you seem to be a modest and down-to-earth person (2 unique and in my opinion very attractive traitd) and I'm sure you have a lot of cool interests and hobbies, so you've already got more than those models who are 100% looks. You've got character, personality, interests, quirks, and a lot more. I think a lot of guys would choose you over an instagram model without much hesitation.

You don't need to compete with them. Although I do date girls into fitness in person I couldn't care less about those instagram models and I don't think it's a positive when girls tell me they are instagram models.

Any guy worth dating doesn't really give a crap about that stuff. It's not different then when girls like Magic Mike films yet they seem totally head over heels for average looking guys they know in person.

One of the best pieces of advice I got growing up is to not compare yourself to others. Regardless of how you personally do you will never feel truly happy. There will always be someone who does it better. Don't pay attention to the instagram models. Plenty of guys will fall in love with you in reality.

if you care about popularity aim for being someone who post interesting contents like photography, cosplay, etc..

You don't need to compete with them, it's just that they're super attractive & for whatever reason we just like to look at them without any real feelings.

Does NOT mean ON THE SLIGHTEST - that you HAVE to look exactly like them, because you don't & we don't expect you to. They're famous models. We're normal guys.

Guys and girls both follow people like that on IG, but for the most part I think most people realize it isn't realistic to look for people like that.

I'd say just be yourself, any decent guy is going to want to be with you because of who you are as a person. In my honest opinion, looks don't really matter too much, it's your mind, your personality, and your values that get a guy to stay with you.

You don't compete with them. It sounds corny but you just be you. Guys may look at models but in reality they will never get one. You stand out by being a girl who has more too her than just looks. Someone with a personality, hobbies, compassion, funny, hard working, and so on. You focus on those and you'll have no problem finding a man that wants that in a partner. Plus you are beautiful too.

Obviously they're attractive but I've always found something more attractive in a regular girl that has something that catches your eye. Like it's not just about how someone looks when they're posing for a shot, it's stuff like expressions and the way someone laughs that you'll find in regular girls. There's no point in even comparing yourself to an Instagram model as most attraction is superficial, with regular girls it can be an attraction to looks and personality, just far better in my opinion. You'll scroll past the Instagram models and forget but a regular girl that catches your eye keeps you thinking

I've never even used Instagram, so I don't know anything about these so-called models. However, if I let my own perception of the app extend to its users, then I can assume those girls are mostly fake and superficial. So I don't think you have anything to worry about if you have an actual personality.

Yeah. Join dance academy and make videos of yourself. Have a good balance diet. In that way you will develop a look like a model. Pay attention to what to wear. And go to Wikihow for how to become an Instagram model. They know how to increase followers.
