i dunno this one guy used to use them with me and he asked me out and i found it goofy but keep in mind i wasn't into him and i rejected him... if it was a guy i liked and was into it wouldn't be that goofy as long as he doesn't overuse them haha

I love to use emoticons and I don't care if they like it or not
Slightly but I do it myself at times as well. I'm okay with smile or laughing faces but I find it proper cringy when guys use one's like these 😜 😍 whilst texting. I automatically think fuckboi
We're talking about when you're ALREADY getting to know each other, not form a relationship on texting. Texting is just what comes after you've made the moves. Sorry man, you usually have some good points but I think your answer here was the fail this time.
That wasn't your question. The question was about emoticons - and they don't replace real emotion you can read when you actually TALK to someone, and body language is completely missing. So you miss out on at least half of what's being communicated. Which leads to misunderstanding and confusion. How many times have you seen someone take a completely different meaning on what you said in a text? So the questions here are constant as to the confusion about their relationship becuase most of their communication is by texting, or instant chat, or some messenger. And that's why it's a fail. If you want to use cutesie icons go for it. If you try hard enough you can be just like a girl. :)

I use them all the time with both genders. lol Oh well! 😉😊😋🤪
They are good, especially since you can’t see the other person’s face and body language. But not to be overdone.
I like when people use emoji in texting.. especially guys I think it's nothing bad about it
Not goofy just sounds more friendly and excessive emojies make me see the guy as childish
Nope. Seeing my guy be expressive would be nice too.
I like it because the only times when I don't use emoticons is when I'm only talking to someone to be polite.
Texting is kind of goofy anyway but using emoticons all the time, I don't know but it seems childish to me if they are overused.

im glad im behind a screen otherwise if i did that emoji in real life, ud probably kick me in the balls 😖
@thatguyfromtoronto no I'd just cringe and ignore you 😅
wow that's worse 🤯
If used sparingly its fine. Helps convey emotion and intent.
A "real" man wouldn't care how others perceived what he did unless he was trying to manipulate them.
I like it when they send emotions so I know in what tone the text is.
I generally find them goofy and something that should be used sparingly
But I cannot speak for women they may see it differently
It's even more goofy to try to establish some kind of relationship by texting. It's a giant fail, for a LOT of reasons.

Yeah, that was my question. Everyone else here is understanding exactly what I said in the details.
You're really not that bright are you? LOL Oh well.
I don't mind emoticons at all, I use them too sometimes.
If a guy is using emoticons while texting me, it's totally fine.
No. I use them too. And I like to send hearts to my boyfriend and he text me kissing emoji or hearts too.
No.
it is fun. It is more readable than simply writing. And it's a game to find new ones and surprise the other.
I think it's a good thing, can better describe the purpose of writing
No I find it cute and it means you are a human with emotions.
