I'm allergic to cats, my girlfriend wants a cat, what's the solution?

She has her own place and really loves cats and wants one. I'm simply allergic, I wouldn't be able to sleep there or stay there for more than a few hours. My stance is: its fine, but I'm not coming over again, you have to come to me. I have a feeling she thinks I'm over reacting.

Am I being a dick? What's the right move here? What would you do?

I don't know what its called but, I read that there is something a doctor can give you, it'll help a person be able to be around cats. I seen it briefly online, read it, not sure what it was about. Anyhow, If she cleans her bedroom floor, and bedding before you're there... keeps the cat out of her bedroom... and keeps the cat away from you awhile might help...

I know a Woman who has a husband whose allergic to Cats
believe it or not she has to have Cats but they can't be around him
if so he stops breathing. So any Woman who can't respect you
my opinion is move on without her and find a Woman who can

get a cat. your allergy will go away. it will be a bit of a hassle in the first 1-2 weeks but after that your symptoms die down. trust me i know what i'm saying. i have a cat being allergic to cats.

You aren't over reacting at all, you are allergic and simply looking out for your health. She probably thinks you are over reacting because she hasn't seen your reaction to cats
