Not exactly sure, but I believe this has something to do with biology, where humans tend to prefer others who don’t look too different. I believe I read or heard somewhere that we all generally prefer someone who looks more normal rather than unique, exotic, etc. I’m not sure if I’m getting this right, so if anyone sees my faults then correct me. I believe we gravitate towards more normal faces and appearances, at least what we consider to be normal faces and appearances. This whole thing might be related to the idea that men and women who look and act similarly, are more apt to bond better than men and women who are different in these respects. I think we’re just hardwired somewhere in our thinking to be more attracted to those who fit our idea of normal and at the same time, share physical and non-physical qualities as us. I also think we can kind of tell whether certain traits are out of place on a person, which might inform whether or not we like them. That picture of that woman with white hair does not necessarily look normal and some might say that there’s something wrong/out of place with that picture. There are certain traits or features of a person that can compliment their overall look, so things that are out of place might not make a person look as great. I personally think that woman in your post would look way better with black hair. I think black would compliment her more and looks more natural than white.
Not sure about that particular girl. Her hair is unnatural unless she managed to persuade Geralt of Rivia to turn her into a witcher. In the right picture you see a lot of photoshop magic at work. I find your own face much more attractive than the girl whose photo you shared.
Apart from that we are all unique and so are our tastes. Personally I have never found Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba or Scarlett Johansson to be attractive, yet millions of men find them to be the epitome of beauty. So what exactly is unique beauty?
@YvanKarma, I meant the hair colour of course. She is Gambian, ethnically Fulani. Here is her Instagram account: Bee Melvnin - https://www.instagram.com/melvnin/?hl=en She is beautiful, but neither her hair colour, freckles nor the eye colour are hers naturally which is what I wanted to say.
Because people naturally like something they are familiar with! If you showed people blonde hair everyday when they were a child they would prefer blonde hair!
Unique beauty is often thought to be odd looking!
But my being odd is by being something no one else is! Being different is what we should all wish to be! Yet we seek comfort in choosing our friends for what they look like! How can you say a guy likes you for you when the only difference between you and your best friend is your shoe size!
People think they stand out by having fake tots etc... but actually they are just the same as everyone else! Be different because why waste your time being something and someone you think people want!
We are all unique but have fallen in to the trap of wearing what everyone else does and therefore lose our identity!
the definition of unique is basically rare. so by definition, most people will be attracted to the most commonly available features that are seen as beautiful. the people who find unique beauty more beautiful will be fewer in number and unique beauties will also be more rare, so i'm doing a horrible job of explaining it but basically... statistics.

Fake enhanced beauty. That's not her real beauty.
Most of it is all fake.
Anyone can lie and pretend with fakeup. It's not unique. She's just doing what a million other girls have done. Dye their hair bunch of makeup etc. Nothing special.
Her natural beauty is what would be unique.
That's just me personally.
Her look is unusual and special which makes it unique. I don’t care how she did what. The facts are is she’s beautiful and unique
I honestly find her very attractive. I'm a girl, and I have a husband, but I'm an artist and she is an aesthetically pleasing female to me. Her dark skin is framed nicely by her white hair, her face shape is good, her eyebrows are shaped nicely, she is very pretty overall.
You're confusing two things. That picture screams money and fame to me, but it won't be if the 'product' isn't certi too. It takes a lot more (and less of you consider beauty to be a God given gift) than beauty to be famous. It takes hard, smart work, luck and some invisible blessings like the right personality to both sell and do business with too.
Everyone has unique features that are beautiful. The term ''unique beauty'' is very vague and everyone will understand it differently. But this photo right here is just simply of fake beauty. Hair dyed to an unnatural color, shitloads of editing and photoshop and filters in both photos, not just the one with makeup, and the lighting makes the hair look even more fake. I am sure she is a very pretty girl but I would like to see her in normal lighting without the effects.
Many of the things we consider "beautiful" (face and body symmetry) are indicators of good health, reproductive fitness, etc.. there is also a general human preference for other humans who look similar to us because that's something of an approximation for member of our hunter-gatherer tribe which means his/her behavior is predictable. All of which makes for a better mate choice.
Now, having said that, my preference is a bit outside of that norm, but I can see the sense of it.
I'm not sure what is unique about her beauty (is it the eye color? I mean that's fairly rare), not saying she isn't beautiful just that I don't understand where the unique part comes in. Personally I don't like the white hair (its not bad, just not what I prefer), but otherwise yes she is very attractive.
I think it's the contrary actually. People tend to get blinded with someone's uniqueness and swap it with beauty, but if something is unique, it's not by default beautiful too.
That girl is eye-catching because of her hair-skin-eyes combination, but when I actually look at her face, there's something really odd about it and I don't find it beautiful. It's not jealousy as some would probably like to say. I just don't think she is beautiful.
I don't really care how unique it looks if majority of it is fake.
But I dont think "unique" beauty is overlooked. I think that the beauty industry goes overboard with fashion and beauty and in reality most of it looks crazy. I don't understand why people over look simple beauty or natural beauty.
But hey, beauty is subjective and what you consider beautiful could look atrocious to someone else.
The picture on the left looks better and you can see her more, the way the makeup is done there enhances her features. Moreover, I think it’s overlooked because people like to follow the culture or community too much of what is defined to be “beautiful” which isn’t most of the time underneath air brushing/photoshopping etc
Beauty is highly subjective,
... maybe you associate the image with something good?
You do realize that that is not her hair and it's not even a very good wig. It's like Halloween hair.
Can someone explain for me the meaning of "unique beauty", please? What makes someone unique in beauty terms?
This isn't unique beauty- This is Melvnin. A black woman, with dark brown eyes and black hair, who wears a wig as well as contacts.
I know who she is... but her look is unique
No the only thing fake about her is her wig. She’s naturally beautiful her skin is absolutely perfect. Her features are soft. Wig or not she’s still gorgeous
Judging by your page you don’t seem to like beautiful women.. maybe you feel threatened but you’re kinda pathetic
Not sure where you got that impression considering I avoid topics such as this, LOL. I'm also not insecure about my looks in the slightest, so you're off the mark there.
Definitely not threatened- I think she's gorgeous, sure. But not a "Unique Beauty", considering the things that would make her unique are fake. Seems like you're attacking anyone with a different opinion then you, though.. which would make you the "kinda pathetic" one? Everyones entitled to their own opinion.
I’m not attacking anyone I just stating “my opinion” lol if I feel like you said something dumb I’m gonna tell you it’s not my problem if you feel attacked
I’m just gonna ignore the rest because everything you said is CLEARLY not true
I disagreed with the fact she's a "Unique beauty" because her hair/eye color is faked. You went and stalked my profile and came at me calling me pathetic. Hmmm.. Seems like an attack to me.
Scrolling through this question you definitely seem to take it personally when anyone disagrees with what you stated. I personally find the photos with her black hair prettier, because she looks more natural to me.
Whatever makes you feel better about yourself ❤️
She’s definitely stunning. I wouldn’t say that unique beauty is overlooked so much as people have been taught certain beauty standards by their culture and it’s difficult to look past that.
Because it's not natural so any girl can decide to look "unique" like her...
I don't think it is overlooked, it is getting more and more popular. Everybody's searching "uniqueness"
The comments section is stupid.
Because people want to follow everyone else and look cool. They lie about their preferences.
It's over looked cause it unique meaning it not the norm so what you think is unique beauty may not be to others for instance the girl in the pic isn't beautiful to in in fact she looks creepy and scary to me lol I'm just being honest
Bruh it looks like you ripped the hair off of an old lady and stuck it on a young African-American female!
Odd choice to show beauty. That picture looks like something you'd find guarding the gates of Mordor.
Looks like she's a professional model, so what part of that suggests to you that she is "overlooked?"
She looks good. Lots of white people here tho and they follow the white standard of beauty, so this gal may not be their taste.
Unique? She's black how is that unique beauty, it's just beauty
Well I don't know if you’re just blind or stupid but clearly she doesn’t look like a “regular” everyday black girl
You sound like a hater, sorry not everyone looks as basic as you do.
And the fact that’s she’s black makes her even more exotic so my statement still stands.
Not everyone is unique let’s not tell lies
What's so unique about it? It's just a black woman with white hair.
At this point I've seen all types of girls with all types of hair colors. And sometimes even multiple colors.
That is a hard question to answer because uniqueness is not beauty but beauty is unique. Which translated is if your different it doesn't mean your automatically beautiful. But it can happen. But everyone who is beautiful has uniqueness.
Wow Has anyone told you look like Storm from. the X-Men
my wig got snatched when i saw this woman... Jesus...
She's wearing a wig and eye contacts but I agree. she's pretty, seen her around.
She's still beautiful. I bet even without all the extra
I agree, everything just enhanced her features tbh
Right because under all that get up there is natural beauty
Unique beauties probably get overlooked because of the fact that they won't conform to the present standards of fashion and beauty.
I really really hate that look. She has pretty features but a poor taste.
I also think that Vitiligo is
I have seen many black women that are beautiful with varying degrees of Vitiligo but I'm so glad I'm not so afflicted.
Now show a picture without a shitton of makeup and camerafilters.
Because different people have different definitions of what is or isn't "beautiful".
Why aren't her eyebrows white?
She certainly is unique
Iv seen her many times being talked about and paid attention to in the media.
She looks like what happens when you set the saturation to the lowest on an old CRT.
Wow, not many people can pull off pure white hair. I don't think it's overlooked though, there's just a difference between actually thought out unique and what most girls do when they're trying to be all quirky
She just looks really unnatural to me. I don't personally find that appealing but I guess if that's what you're into, that's what you're into.
It's human nature when we see something different we find it difficult to accept. But as we start familiarizing with it we find it beautiful.
Unique beauty is overlooked because beauty itself is purely subjective, so "unique" might be only in your opinion.
This Specific girl? Yeah to me its just looks bad... The contrast is too big between the hair and the skin colour.
She isn't the most beautiful in my opinion but I can see her appeal.
I disagree. She's not bad, not at all, she's just not my favorite.
I didn’t know that it was? I thought that people PREFER unique beauty.
That's a good look. Its very differently attractive.
I don't think that's a natural look. Hardly unique tbh
" This is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen." it's some black dude in a wig lmao
She has some of the most feminine features. Stop trolling you sound dumb
Beauty is beauty there are no subdivisions to complicate matters.
I like the look though... Very X-Men.
She looks beautiful on the left but on the right way to much make up looks like a Halloween custome
She's not all that. The contrast is too off-putting.
The real question is can she control the weather?
I don't think it's that overlooked, at least I don't.
Being unique makes you, you; being ordinary makes you a sheep...
Good Heavens... That hair is incredible...
@VaIiant Doh... I knew there was a catch somewhere...
Is that a real person or a photo negative?
Because people don't like different
Nice but honestly it looks filtered to oblivion.
Now thats milk chocolate
What is unique beauty?
Is that her real hair colour?
Well her eyebrows are black so... probably not. I just thought she had a very unique look.
