Boyfriend hates when I dye my hair. what should I do?

since I was 14 I love dying my hair, now I'm 22 and have this problem with my boyfriend that he hates when I dye my hair in fantasy colors. How do I make him understand that I will always dye my hair no matter what he thinks or says. That's how he met me so I don't understand what's the problem now. The colors I use are only blue or pink if not I have the blonde hair for a while until I decide to dye it again.( I have Naturally dark hair). Sometimes I feel like he wants me to look a certain way, I feel he wants to change me. but I don't know if I'm just overthinking it. What do you guys think?

Well you aren't wrong to think the way you want to. You should dye it if you want to. What kinds of things does he say about it? Does he keep bringing it up time after time? What have you told him in response and how did he handle it? You say you feel like he wants to change you - has he also tried to change you in other ways? Does he give you reasons as to why he wants you to change? (If he can provide reasons, that doesn't mean you should listen to him, but it could help us understand what is going through his head.)

Well, dying your hair causes a lot of damage to your hair so actually he's being a good boyfriend by being against it haha

I broke up with a guy once cause he didn't want me dying my hair and that was back when I dyed my hair like every month or two. I'm not saying dump him, I'm just saying do what makes you happy, it's your hair.

It's your choice to do what you like with your body or hair but maybe you could find a compromise? Maybe wigs or temporary dyes etc. I hope it works out for you anyway.

Keep up having fun with your hair , but talk to him and see if you can help him work his problem and let him know why you do it
