Would you date a super busy person?

Im getting closer to a guy at work and he is interested but his kids are his life and he sees them a lot. He admits that he hasn't got a lot of time. Would you consider dating someone who by their own admission doesn't have a lot of time for a relationship?

I think you best listen very carefully to what that inner voice is telling you and about what he is telling you when it comes to people who are upfront about how their lives work. You know off the bat he is busy with his kids, and trust and believe, they will always be priority number one and you're going to have to basically always cede your needs to those of his kids if it's ever a choice between the two. I think there is a difference between someone saying they really are trying to work on a balance between say work and relationships or work and kids and relationships or whatever the case and those that flat out say, "I'm busy." These types of relationships tend to only work if you're a super independent person who doesn't necessarily require the typical amount of time one would spend with a partner with the attention placed squarely on them. Me personally, I wouldn't do it. I like to give my relationships priority and I like that reciprocated so constant no-stop texts about cancellations and re-schedulings and him forgetting about things that are important to me and for me just wouldn't work.

Girl do NOT date a father. Realize that you will never feel like you're the prize of his life because his kids are always going to come first. he's gonna be canceling dates because the kid is sick or whatever. Being a father is a job and if he's working full time on top of that, he's not gonna have much time for you.

And if you ever decide to get married to him, understand that you will be doing all the work to raise someone else's children. So many women told me that they felt like it was unfair and that they are being used. If you also had kids of your own, then it would be a different story.
Just go for a single guy, you will feel like a priority (which is important) and you won't have to devote your life raising kids that aren't yours.

I recently did, same thing, her son is her life and because of work hours we could see each other very little.

So anyways we did what we could, things didn't work out, so what, the time we had was great, great conversations, both had feelings and we enjoy our time a lot. Maybe in the future things will change but at least we were happy while we could.

Go for it, understand that you will not (and you should't) be his priority, his son/daughter will come before, if you can't with that tought then just walk away.

If you can deal with the tought, then go for it.

However, maybe you are the kind of person that needs/wants to spend a lot of time with someone, thats ok, some people like that some don't. If you are the type of people that will resent his absence or lack of time then, again, walk away.

It really is up to yoy, don't get false expectations, be really honest about the amount of time you want and then make a choice

I personally wouldn't date a person who is busy above a specific threshold at which we aren't able to have fun together. If anything in their life takes more time, importance and other resources than our relationship, it isn't worth pursuing the relationship with them.

I know he's interested in you, but realistically it's not going to work out. Between work and his kids, he's not going to have time for you... at least not as much as you want. You won't be a priority because he's going to put his kids first.

Maybe once he figures out how to balance his kids, work, and dating, give him a chance if you want. But I wouldn't recommend dating him now.

Well if such time is enough for you.
It could be the right thing for you if you are somewhere in-between, so need sex but also an ability to leave (it sounds wrong but I just can't work out how else you'd solve the problem of access to sex until you find the right person to be with)

It depends. Do you prefer a mature man who's serious enough to treat you right, or another horny little player who can't even spell responsibility? You guys aren't 20 anymore, you don't need to spend every waking moment on "the relationship". I say give the guy a chance, you should. be pleasantly surprised in no time.

It depends on you and do you think you can handle it? Especially if/when you get closer, because you're naturally going to want to spend more and more time with him.
For me personally, it would be a concern, because I've been there and it's hard. Plus, I'm not like that (and don't know how people can be so busy, some even like it that way!), so I'd prefer to be with someone that's a little more like me that way. But, it would depend how interested I was in them.

Yes but then I am a super busy person so it will work... my friends are all super busy people and we see each other a few times a year, a relationship will need more than that but busy people fit better with busy people
