How do you deal with someone who is argumentative?

I asked my boyfriend this morning a yes or no question. I asked him if he wanted to play Dragon Ball Z with me. He got mad and started yelling “LAST TIME I TRIED TO PLAY YOU SAY YOU WERE TIRED AND EVERYTIME I SAY NO, YOU GET ALL MAD.” I was confused. I just asked a Simple yes or no question. He say that he was annoyed by something else when he called me. Yesterday, we were in the shopping center and I drove around a cop and my boyfriend started yelling over my loud music. I turned the radio down and asked him “what is the problem?“ and he just kept playing a stupid game on his phone and I had to ask him 3 times to answer my question. He started yelling and saying that I could’ve gotten a ticket. It’s not illegal in the state of Texas to drive around a cop in a shopping center. And I wasn’t speeding, I drove past them really slow and it’s not even a street. It’s a shopping center. And then I told him that he was stupid for thinking that and I told him to be quiet because he don’t even drive and he doesn’t understand the rules of the road. He also always gets mad for things I’ve said to him or done months ago. No matter how many times I apologize, he doesn’t want to accept it. He wants me to apologize and apologize and apologize and then he will keep ranting even AFTER have apologized.

And he will accept my apology and then bring it up randomly later when he gets mad at something that has absolutely nothing to do with me. We have only been dating for 5 months. I know arguments are normal but he seems to pick fights with me so frequently and it’s getting really annoying hearing him bickering and whining about small trivial things. He gets even more mad when I hang up the phone on him and when he gets mad, it’s like he stays that way for a whole 24 hours.
How do you deal with someone who is argumentative?
