I'll say at least an interesting talk and some smiles , and see what happens... otherwise it's just another date without compatibility and if the other person seems to not talk and build a conversation and just seep coffee with annoying face gestures , then it's even a waste of time and money for me, such a bad experience also, that's my personal point of view because I will make my effort to reach the place, and try to build a nice conversation... so if the other person is not in the mood or hates company then that will be the last time I'll go for a coffee with you , no doubt about it lol.

30min-2 hours, maybe more if it's a great connection/great conversation.
I pay
Talk about life, work, Interests, generic get to know you stuff.
A couple compliments maybe some sexual flirting but nothing too heavy
If it went well show your intention to set up more plans.
Hug, wait to make sure her car starts normally and then leave.42 Reply

Man pays. It’s just coffee.
45 min - 2 hours.
Listen. Ask about other’s interests.
Tasteful flirting good.
No kissing. Hug ok.
Text her afterward and say something nice, even if it’s “I enjoyed meeting you but we’re not a good match. Best wishes.”
—> If there’s a connection, tell her to text you when she gets home so you know she made it safely.
Once a guy on a first meeting printed out on nice paper the lyrics to a song I referred to in my online profile and gave it to me. Warmed my heart. Showed he knew who he was meeting. I mattered.21 Reply
Asker+1 yThanks!!
Coffee, conversation, see if there's anything complimentary in personalities/hobbies, testing demeanor (great if they screw up his order: does he handle it gracefully or berate the server). I like them early on because its compartmentalized, there's no expectations, there's no awkward kiss, no how does this end, and usually its an hour or two.

00 ReplyMy expectations are minimal for almost everything. Less I expect the less I hurt if it doesn't work out well for me. I might need to chill out because though I go into everything with little expectations the experience creates one after another. By the time the date is over you will develop expectations and how well they are met is a huge deal. This is when two people have good chemistry.

+1 yJust a few cups of tea/coffee, no kissing or anything, it's just a straight up interview. These are probably better at determining whether you are both interested, as both are sober and thinking clearly

+1 yMassive hot chocolate, extra hot, extra chocolatey... maybe some marshmallows.
If I'm lucky, some company. Beyond that, a chat would be nice, perhaps an agreement to see each other again.10 Reply
+1 yGood conversation. Basically getting to know one another 🔸

You know things you do on a coffee date. It's just about learning to get to know someone in a laid back and casual environment.00 Reply
+1 yFind out basics, job, values, what you're looking for in life at a broad level and some flirting. Light touches, a hug, if there's chemistry maybe walk outside and kiss goodbye or at least discuss the next date if everything is going well.
