How can I meet funny men?

I'm fairly young 24 yr old and still never had a boyfriend. Every since I was young, I dreamed of getting married and having children. But life really is not turning out that way. I have a non existent dating life. I have a very limited access to men despite living in such a huge city such as NYC. Neither do I ever get approached nor do I get any attention from male strangers. And if I do get it, its always an old man or a creep. I had much more attention from strangers when i was younger though. Men never talk to me at bars. All I see are other women getting approached regardless if they are younger or older than me.

Due to my limited social life, I've dealt with dreadful online dating for many years which resulted in nothing. I had no mental attraction to any of the guys. But I had absolutely no problem getting men to fall in love me. The problem is: I only am attracted to funny men (aka comedic guys) and 95% of men are NOT funny which is why I've been having such a hard time developing any relationship. So I ditched online dating and the bar scene. Now im trying to meet people at comedy club. The only problem is, some of the comedians are not even genuinely funny. And if he is genuinely funny, he would have masses of women going after him. Then for others, they are just not totally physically my type. I'm just at a total loss for words here. I feel like I have reached a dead end. WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND FUNNY GUYS?

I had a friend who told me that I should try to make as many friends as possible so they can introduce me to a funny guy. The problem with this is : NYC is a city full of strangers. People are not friendly here. And the classic social life scene here is : getting a drink at a bar after work, make small talk with few acquaintances, go home and forget about them.

I just never knew getting to know men would be this difficult as an adult. I have thought about paying to join a dancing club but there's really no guarantee that I will end up finding a funny guy. I would be wasting so much money

I feel like you should move to another city. I hate NYC or the northeast because of all the unfriendly people, I will never move there lol. I feel like the guys there are closed off too. And yea I feel you too, guys never really approach me and if they do they aren't my type at all.

I don't know, dude, I'm a funny guy too but have problems meeting girls. It's hard, too meet people. :^(

Try meetup groups. There's plenty of funny guys. Maybe you just scare em away.

Yea well what are my chances of finding a funny guy at a random bar or street. Of course it’s better to find one at a stand up comedy club than anywhere else

About the same chances of meeting an NBA player on the street or at a bar. Yeah if it's that specific then probably should look at comedy fests, clubs or try seeking them out through social media. However just because you want someone that funny doesn't mean he'll want to be with you. Out of curiosity what makes you a catch? I know that sounds like a dickish question lol, but I was just curious. I didn't mean it to sound as malicious as it comes across.

That's a lot of assumptions on your part about me. I'm 0% offended about anything you say since I don't even know you lol. You assumed that even after I told you I was curious.

I think it does matter if you are a catch. Realistically if you are a trash person you'll have 0 chance.

You asked how can you meet a specific type of person. If you think who you are and what you're about doesn't factor into that equation then you're more lost than you think.

I am actually highly adored by men. I’ve had countless men who fell madly for me, that I was unable to develop feelings for. I have no doubt that am able to get a man to love me for who I am. And quite honestly, sorry If this sounds arrogant but I do think I am an amazing woman and I can do some amazing things in life. I am a one of a kind that stands out for all the other women, once you get to know me well. I am blessed with much better character and personality than most other people. I have no flaws to hide which is why I’m so genuine with everyone,

There's a thin line between being confident and arrogant. I don't know you well enough, so I'll take your word for it. You should have no problems find a comedian, just looking in the wrong place or having bad luck.
