Is it alright to date your friends ex?

They only dated for 2 months or so last fall, I keep seeing her around town and we seem to have a bit of chemistry between us.

Is this a ethical line? Feel like asking her out but dont want to be a jerk to a good friend in the long term

depends if you dont wanna be freinds with him then most likly itll end how you think it would based on the fact you really got ask that question to strangers. feelings can last longer than 2 months thats a very short time in the love world hell i rember a few months ago was the half way mark with my girlfriend and it felt like only a week gone bye. time kind dosnt exzist when ur stuck on a person and ur freind probaboly won't admit he still likes her if he does. this is more a question of time and healing for ur freind cuz that can dettermen ur freindship

Yes you should ask her. Why is it alright? Your friend and her aren't dating anymore. It's not like your tryna get someone who's dating your friend right now. What's happened between them is in the past. And no you don't need to tell him until it gets serious between you guys but even then does your mate need to know? It's your life not his. Overall though if you guys date it doesn't affect his life a bit. So why should it be wrong for?

Depends. If it was on good terms and it won't mess up the friendship then sure. But if it wasn't on good terms then there was probably a good reason - like an affair or abuse. You'd want to know that upfront, too. Especially, if you're considering asking this girl out.

Depends, if they broke up because the girl did domething really bad (cheating etc) then i think it'd be stupid but if they broke up on a good note go ahead. She's his ex do he has nothing to do with who she dates, i dont think you need to ask permission either.

In my opinion I dont think dating for friends ex should make you think a lot. If both agree with it I dont think you should worry about others thought on it. Relationship is of feelings to the individuals involved in each other and not the society who always find a reason to point out flaws in others.

In general I'd say no. But I've seen some friends who crossed the line but not before asking the ex first if he'd be cool with it so we never know. Although if I were the girl, I would hesitate dating my ex's friend.

You have that right, but your friend might not agree. Therefore, it may be good to ask your friend if you can ask her out. I don't see how he could say, "No." However, he might tell you that she is not a good person and you may get harmed.

No, it feels weird because she's your friend's ex-girlfriend. Just imagine when you must take your girlfriend to your friends gathering and she meet your friend there, then it would turn into an awkward situation.
