So they are my step siblings

His son is 2 years older than me

Im attracted to him
And he's attracted to me
We did kiss once

Its looked down upon simply because people like things to be difficult.

The fact of the matter is that if you put people in a space together for a long period of time far more people in that situation will fuck and or date than they would compared to dating in the real world.

People dont like it because you have taken an easy option and people are dumb so we have trouble fully understanding on all levels that its absolutely not incest, part of us hangs onto it and we end up thinking its weird.

It kind of breaks the rule that you shouldn't mix business with pleasure, your family might not be business but in the same way its an ongoing thing that you dont want to be affected if the pleasure part doesn't work out.

But a lot goes on behind closed doors, i think the awful truth would be that many blood brothers and sisters did some kind of something growing up. I dont know what the numbers for that would be, i wouldn't like to guess, but more than we would like to think.

The reason incest is bad is due to the genetic repercussions, I'll get some flack for this but if its between 2 consenting adults in the end no matter what I'd say it should be legal as there's no risk above that of anybody else.

In this case though you have no genetic relationship close enough to be different on average than picking someone else random. This minimizes the downside of harmful alleles in the child that actual incest would incur. Basically, no this isn't incest from any biological perspective.

I often explain the logic behind this by the following scenario, which is perfectly feasible.

Suppose you met this guy, fell in love, got married, had kids. No problem there!

Now your single parent met his single parent. The two of them fell in love and married.

It would not affect your marriage to your (now) step brother.

You are not blood relatives so in most of the United States you can date and marry a step-sibling. Only in Virginia is it different. There, even if you are each 30 and each of your parents is 55, once they marry you and your now step-sibling cannot marry.
