To be honest, most likely not.
Not significantly less anyway, at the moment. As my income increases, I may be slightly more open to it, but would probably have a minimum. I'm still building my career and have my own goals to be a senior exec in my field and that looks realistic within the next 5-10 years. But I'm already making more than most men.
I used to be somewhat more open minded about this, but I've seen the inferiority complexes that men have. I get this enough by coming across as an "intellectual" who is assertive about her opinions and well-informed enough to be able to explain and challenge ideas. That alone creates issues. Add on to that the money and it's just a recipe for some guys to feel inadequate or "emasculated." I've also seen what happens to women who take on men as charity projects to help "build them up." I'm against this fundamentally. I will be a supportive partner but I will not be a mother figure in any sense of the world. I will not offer to pay your bills, pay for any major expenses, etc. unless we are married. I've seen too many women go all in to help men who were making less, had no education, or were flat out unemployed. The gender dynamic is fucked. Whatever my leftist ideals, reality is that many men are conditioned and want to be providers/chasers. I've seen too many friends do everything for these men and they become complacent and put less effort in the relationship, or they use her for her money and support in building him up to a job, a degree, etc. and then cheat on her. It's not always malicious, to be fair. I think the way men are conditioned to be providers and how "emasculated" they can feel when they aren't makes them more attracted to women who haven't given them the moon and the sun. A friend of mine went through this and put thousands into moving them both to a state across the country for him to finally have the job he wanted. Used her credit card, her car, everything. Once he was in the job and making more money, he met another woman. Could just be the connection, but I'd bet that it was subconsciously because he felt like at least her equal and maybe she was even impressed by his job, etc. My poor friend was left alone, out thousands and heart broken.
Won't be me, I can tell you that much. He should be making within a range, a little less is fine but not an entire class difference. Pains me to say it, but it just doesn't seem to play out well. I know in some cases it's fine, but I won't chance it.
Also, there's a pretty good chance of education and social differences if the income is too different or he hasn't acquired at least a Bachelor's. These are generalizations, not absolute truths for everyone, of course.
There's also the issue of my expensive city and having a child. I'd like to have one child and live comfortably in one of the most expensive cities in the world. This is home for me, I worked hard to build a life here and I'm not leaving. To give future baby the best life, I think two higher income salaries would be best. My parents both had average incomes, with a household income that is beyond the average, and even they had to sacrifice a lot, in a much smaller city at that. I just have a clear idea of what kind of life I want. Tbh, this kind of resolves itself, because social circles often hover around class commonalities. But not always!
I really don't understand guys that feel less because their partner makes a little more. You had very bad luck to find so many of them.
I understand your concerns when you say you want a guy with a solid degree and that makes a decent amount. Those are legitimate concerns.
Many guys here think women are all for the money, but most girls here said the same you did. As long as he makes a decent amount and it has a secure job they don't care if he makes more or less.
It's not how much you make, it's how much you spend (and save). I have no problem dating someone who made less than me but I would want them to be financially responsible. I don't make that much, I work an entry level admin job (first job "up" from the world of retail and waitressing, the latter which if in the right place you can actually make a lot more than what I make). I have no concept that a partner should "have it all together" before we date, if anything that would be very intimidating. I would want someone who saves a portion of each paycheck for long term goals and someone to actively be paying off any debt they have. I paid off 22k of student loans in 3 years, and I made a lot of sacrifices (a lot of which were not that healthy and I isolated myself from my peers). I would not expect someone to exactly as I have done but I would want someone to value living the least financially stress-induced life they can. A lot of financial problems are attitude problems. It takes 6 months to build up an emergency fund which will allow you to not live paycheck to paycheck (no matter the actual size of the paycheck).

I have no interest in dating a high earning woman. I have family money and don't even need to work (although I do and plan to continue to), and I don't plan to marry for now. But if I did, I would marry a woman who prioritizes children, family and relationship above her career ambitions, like the majority of men in my circumstances typically do.
I will also be extremely careful about dating (and choosing a partner, if I eventually do) because money is a huge motivator for women and I want a woman who loves me for me, not my money or the lifestyle I can provide her. Growing up in the circumstances I have, it has been easy to see how women treat a man differently when they know he has money. They all do it, though some are more obvious about it than others. But it's easy to see it is in their nature as women.
Now, I don't care whether a woman comes from money. I mean, I would not be bothered if she brought more money to the table than I do. That's not the issue. What's important to me is her priorities in life. And the priorities of an ambitious career woman are entirely inconsistent with the ones a good mother and wife should have in my opinion. But that's just my personal opinion, based on my own experiences and observations.
You clearly met many gold diggers then. Try to see past them and find a women who loves you for you. Most don't care about how much you make.
So you want a woman that will stay home with the kids. Well if that is yor wish fine. But if you as a business man have time to be a good father, I don't see why a women couldn't be a good mother.

No, I am really a guy. Of someone disagrees with you they can't be a guy. No all guys in the world must think that women are money hungry. That pic you see of me is me getting ready for my wedding. My wife stayed with me while I finished my course and she was working and continues to be to this day when I make slightly less than her. Why do I KNOW that women want more than money? Not because I am one is because I have one.

Wouldn't be a problem, simply: I'm dating that person, not her money. To all guys that are having a "no" reaction: dating is about emotional connections, not material ones...
Later if a relationships follows, I would talk about money management (keeping accounts separate, merging some parts and so on) early on in the relationship and work out a system that works for both of us. (this can be different for all couples) But then we are talking about practical stuff and building a life together.
I don't date anymore, but if I did, I wouldn't have an issue with it. I think financial responsibility is more important than how much someone makes, and is what really makes all of the difference, and a lack of it could affect both of you if things were to get serious.
@RockSolidExorcist Many reasons. To put it simply, I just feel happier alone than I ever have in a relationship and am a bit of a loner as it is, so I prefer it. I've also realized that anything a relationship offers that a platonic friendship doesn't, doesn't interest me.

I reach for higher so I expect you to reach for higher as well... but there are exceptions... like if they were just really passionate about what they were doing and genuinely believed in their work that would be okay. But just floating by because it’s safe and secure is an immediate turn off. No passion. No drive. No will. No vision. Eww. And that’s got nothing to do with money, that’s just an unattractive attitude.
But anyway, I really do make a lot of money so I don’t expect everyone to be in my tax bracket. It’s not a big deal to me but I run into guys who get so offended by the idea of not needing or even wanting them financially. I totally agree with this. As long as a guy is passionate about what he does and ambitious, not a blob on the couch, that women don't have any issue with making more money. That is my experience.
I work as an engineer and my wife works in finances. We both have good jobs but she makes slightly more than me.
Not an issue to me. Most guys I have dated usually earn lesser than me ( I am on shifts and they are working office hours) and all the guys I have dated found it offensive when I paid for the first date (I paid as I picked the location) and it shows in their body language after dinner/lunch/tea conversation. I never accepted their request for a second date.
Finally met a guy who graciously thanked me for desserts and coffee, we continued having great conversations on our ride back in the subway, and he asked if I was agreeable if the next date is on him. Yes, he earns lesser than me. And yes we are still together.
All that matters are that we are both financially responsible, there's open communication between the both of us and there is appreciation. He thanked me for my time and company whenever he asks me out. I thanked him for seeing me to my void deck after our dates.
I think you would have to be extremely shallow just to reject a girl who can very well offer you what nobody else can give you , only because she makes more money than you.
If I were to meet a guy like this , I wouldn’t date him at all. He just doesn’t understand the concept of love. And If he does feel emasculated by it, it means he has a huge immense ego, which is a red flag that ladies would need to watch out for , when seeking a good husband. Yes, I have. That maybe the only way for me... I think hard to meet someone making more than me at this point. I don't like using money itself to judge the potential mate. Both bring diff. things to the table. When both combine characters come together to work towards a goal of happiness, togetherness... its worth more than money. What comes down to is... are both there for ea. other? There are a lot of happier couples who view things similiar and not fight over money.
If say the guy makes excellent income, but have no savings or future goals... thats a huge turn off. That can cause issues in a relationship.
If he isn't making a lot, but working to better himself... then I would be supportive.

C, it depends. As long as he can pay his own bills/rent/expenses, I don't really care how much he makes. I don't mind paying for things every now and then and footing the bill (if I can afford it myself), but relationships are about give and take. That includes money. I'm not going to start letting someone mooch off of me too much. It would also be nice if he made enough to be able to afford going on trips together and stuff like that. But the main goal is simply that he can pay for his own things. Just like I wouldn't expect a guy to pay for my things.
I'm also willing to help during hard times. Sometimes you might unexpectedly lose your job, or get too sick to work etc. Relationships are also about supporting each other in times of need, so of course it's not like I'd kick a guy out the second he is without a job. However, he still needs to actively look for another job and show that he's doing whatever he can to pull his own weight.
I honestly couldn't care less about money. As long as he's loving and treats you right with respect and loyalty that's all I need. I've found some men use money as a weapon and a way of showing dominance. Sometimes as a way of controlling you also. After all money is the root of all evil. I wouldn't care if we were both broke , we could build our empire together.
I’m not going to lie. I would prefer him to make more than me because, as a woman, I will be expected to take time off work to raise the child and it’s difficult to live on one income that isn’t that high. It makes sense. If he earned around what I earned, I wouldn’t care. However, i usually go for men who are of my level of background and intelligence, meaning they earn around what I would earn or more. Women find power, drive and intelligence attractive and who possesses these qualities usually? High paid men.
I do respect your point of view. But from where I come, I can't transfer my money each time in your economic system, because some people have to make money invisible when they are not in the confortable country... people are not always forced to find a work to have a standard. Trust is the key of every relation.

Depends on what you mean by less. If they are on the minimum salary on economy probably no, if they earn like 10-20% less it's fine, somewhere between those too it depends. I don't expect a billionaire and I am not super rich, but i am thinking longterm. I don't want to bear the financial responsibility in the family, i want someone with whom i don't have to sacrifice lifestyle choices just because their income is at a completely different level and I have to make up for their part to pay. the bills and for what the kids need. Spliting equally or by the same percentage isn't an option when someone earns just enough to live on their own. If I was really rich I wouldn't mind though. It is just i don't want to stress on that.
Idc about money. I care about brains, integrity, fidelity, can he hold a conversation, does he like children, how does he treat people etc. I care about his morals and how he is as a person not all this nonsensical stuff.

I think it all depends on how he reacts to the situation. If I make more money than him and he’s a whiny beta about it, then yeah— I’m probably not going to date a guy that makes less money than me. This is how I see it: his income has to afford a 'decent' living standard for a family and he has to be decently wise in spending his money. I don't wanna put a fixed value to it because it truly depends so much on the place that you live in and all different factors that affect it. You don't have to be very wealthy for that.

No I can't afford if they earn more than me unless a girl is down to earth and spends less on who I can at least offer a cup of tea. I dont have much knowledge about girls but perceptions are when a girl has lot of money she would not go to a public small hotel to have a tea. They try to show off and will become more hygiene. If both are talented, both are hygienic, both are intellectual and humourous then I would choose poor one.
If he is making significantly less, I can see it being a problem if we move in or if we have kids. Life is expensive and requires a decent sum. So if he planned on making more with a promotion or something that's fine.
However, if we are living apart, I dont care, as long as he is making enough to live.

If we are together, I sure as gell will support him and hope he'd do the same in return. I would never deny him helping around and provide for us, it's his family to. However, I will never rely on him. We are partners we work together, not rely. Relying on one person to do something puts a lot of stress and even resentment over time.
I love the idea of taking him on dates and paying for him to feel like a little prince here and there where there is the income to allow me to do so, and I won't mind if he does the same here and agian. This is just my view on it. I'm personally very self reliant no matter who you are. The only time I ask for help, is when I really can't find a way to do things myself. If I can, I will.
I fully understand a mans need to provide and support his family, I find it charming. And I will do it for him, hlbut this is just a personality trait of mine that won't be going away. What I like to do however, is compromise. That's my main go to when issues or strains arise.
I don't care if he is a millionaire, nothing is for sure bbn going to work out. I will never give up my job, because I didn't get student debt to not work. I love having my own money because no matter what, it mine. Just as his, is his. We work as a team to make sure that we live comfortably. I personally dont need alotnofbtuings, I'm a simple person, I just want to live comfortably. I dont need fancy vacations, spa trips, fancy cars, etc. That's me, so I plan to tell this to the man way before we plan for marriage. It's why I think a lot of marriages fail, because the big picture isn't discussed before it's to late.
I don't understand feeling this way. I make a bit more money than my boyfriend. When I got my job we were both excited that WE were about to have way more money.
I would have no problems with dating a guy who makes less money than me. But, I would expect him to be ok with that. If he wasn't, I wouldn't date him because I already know that we would have issues.

I’d go for it but I’d be waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Girls always peddle this nonsense like “guys feel emasculated” by it. Which, of course, they find to be the perfect excuse to not date poorer guys.
We’ve seen the statistics relating women’s wealth to their demand for wealth in partners. Poor women are chill enough to only ask for a guy to have a job, that’s it’s own problem in my opinion, but whatever. Yet as you move toward wealthier women their demand for wealth in their partners increases as an exponential relationship. Rich women demand partners wealthier than themselves.
So basically I’d give it a shot but the statistics aren’t on their side. And a guy avoiding a rich woman knows that.
To me their credit is way more important that how much they make. You can always get a different job, get degrees, get an apprenticeship, etc. To earn more. But bad credit can make it difficult to buy stuff together plus shows they aren't great with money.
I would as long as she does not try to use it in an argument as justification for whatever point she wants to prove. I get tired of women who think that they call the shots in a relationship just because they earn more. That would cause me to want to knock her down a peg. If she still respects me then we are good. The issue is not who earns what but what heart she has.

im not gonna lie i am not interested in someone who makes less than 40k a year. I have my priorities in check, i don't want to have to cut my way of life to hold up some one who can barely afford rent

How is it picky? If i was a billionare I wouldn't care about his income, but since I am not and when I want to date someone I am thinking longterm, i will consider someone who I can actually have a family with. I don't need him to earn more, but there is a certain point where I would have to make lifestyle sacrifices to be in a family with him. Basically i would be better on my own. Yes I would, I wouldn’t mind spending money on him i mean if he could i’m sure he would do the same to me. He’s my boyfriend after all and I got his back... until marriage then we will see what happens but for now as in dating, totally okay with me.

Its not a problem for me. If she had a really high paying job it would actually be good for me. I want to have kids and if she was the main money maker it would mean that I could spend more time with my kids without feeling the pressure of being the primary money earner. I would love to just work 2-3 days a week and spend the rest with family.
As long as she doesn't use it as leverage to shame ne during an argument. If she doesn't make assumptions based on me having less income, then I won't make any assumptions about her.

I have no problem with the woman in my life earning more than I do. We’re in the 21st century, right? But here is the problem: Of all the women I have known who earned more than their husbands or boyfriends, all of them eventually dumped the guy. The reason? “I didn’t respect him; he wasn’t ambitious enough with his career.”
I have actually always supported my own family, that is a man's job to provide for his wife and children. With my ex wife I raised two twin daughters and a son. I can say this with pride All are college graduates from Ivy League Universities ranging from Surgical Nurse to An IT Network Engineer. To actually answer your question I would definitely date any girl who makes more money than me as a senior military Network Engineer

Yes, and I have done so. I’ve been in a relationship with a guy who made a lot of money - much more than I did. I’ve also been in a relationship with a guy who made less than half of what I made.
Why does it matter? If I'm dating her I'm not dating her because of money or because I have some sort of ego, I want a relationship with her so why does money matter or even come into it? It's not like we're married anyway.
I have/make enough money it doesn't really matter either way. All I would worry about is if it's demasculinizing to him for some reason. There's other things much more important than money

I love strong, successful women. I do ok as an electrician but my education level is always lower than women I'm with. My daughters mother has a Masters Degree in Business Law and my Wife has a Masters Degree in Christian Ministry. I dropped out of high school and earned my GED and entered a trade. Crazy thing is that i make much more than my wife and a small amount more than my ex. Eventually they will pass me but I'm 40 and still earning more than both Masters Degree holders

This is one of those pointless questions that most people will not answer honestly. What people say about it and what they actually do irl are completely different things.

I can also give you examles of famous women, gorgeous women, who make way more than their husbands. Those studies look at men with very high income, see the amount of gold diggers that go for them, and take the conclusion that "hey income helps you get women". Sure THAT kind of women it will. Not actually regular women. As long as you are not a lazy blob with no job they don't care.

Women make for the majority of college degrees today and on average make more than their male counterparts at the beginning of their carees. In the past women cared about that because they needed to provided for. Today that simply is not the case.

There's you problem. Attraction is largely a subconscious thing. Of course men don't walk around consciously looking for women who they think are fertile. But obviously the traits they are attracted to are the ones that signal health and fertility. Everyone knows that and it is not questioned in any scientific literature. The things that men are attracted to in women today are the same ones they have always been attracted to.
And the same is true of women. The fact that women are able to earn more money today has no bearing on the things that they find attractive in men. What the study did was show women photos of men, and include details about the man's career and salary, and women were asked to rate the man's PHYSICAL attractiveness. The very same man might be rated as a 3 if he earned $30K / year or a 9 if he earned $300K / year. It was a very well done and well respected study. You only question it because you don't like the outcome. But regardless, it is a true reflection of the realities of human female attraction and consequent behavior.
Those things are coded in human DNA and will not change just because women are earning more money today than in the past. Likewise, men's attraction and behavior are not going to change either. Male and female attraction will always be more instinctive than logical.
Girls also want tall, handsome men with muscles, all things that can be connected with health and fertility. So do women look for fertile men too? People know what they attracted by. You can make a no number of assumptions for what people actually want, but know about but I can make the same assumptions for the other side.
Trust me if a women rates a guy a 3, a fucking 3, no way she will rate him a 9 after unless on the other picture they showed of him he was with a totally different outfit haircut etc. Or if she is a gold digger.
Do you want more proof that we have evolved past that take a look at what girls are answering here and what they answer in many similar questions. It's a survey like any other.
Sure, girls are also attracted to physical traits in men, but not the same ones men are attracted to in women. The traits men find physically attractive in women are the ones that contribute to her fertility. Women, on the other hand, are attracted to the physical traits in men that make him a good provider and protector. That has always been true and always will be, at least for the next several thousands of years. Because these behaviors are in our human DNA, and human DNA does not evolve just because women have the right to vote and work. This is basic science, "dude".
Your poll, and people's answers to it, are completely pointless because everyone has a social agenda, just like you do, and their answers are simply reflecting what they want people to think about their gender, regardless of reality. Very few people answer a poll like this one honestly. That's why real studies are much more controlled and provide much more realistic results. And study after study has shows that a man's perceived power and wealth outweigh his physical attractiveness.
Do yourself a favor and spend a little time in the journals of science and sociology rather than reading the popular media where everything is biased and politically correct. Looks at the evidence based studies that evaluate BEHAVIOR, not what people say when asked a question like this one where they just give the answer that paints their gender in the most positive light. This is common sense stuff here.

I can look past what I see on social media, you are the one who can't. If you only look at social media you will only see women going for the rich guy. However if you look around you will see that's not how it usually works. Not with regular women at least.
It doesn't matter to me but as a millionaire who basically dates girls 10 or more years younger than me... what 20 year old is going to out earn me? None. So i never been in a position like that.
