There can be a number of reasons why people dont work. Are you embarrassed to say your partner doesn't have a job?

I say it's a red flag. A deal breaker, no.

My one friend who I became best friends with, never worked in his life. I told him, he needed to work to get ahead in life. Life doesn't give you things because you want them. You have to work and earn them.

Now he's working an essential job during COVID-19.

I can easily say, I'm proud of him. He's become more of a human with one little step in life.

When it comes to a lady I have interest in. If she doesn't want to work, I won't waste my time. I want a girl who will do fine if left independent.

For most girls I know, yes; and some guys I know would not date an unemployed woman. For me personally, it's unimportant, as long as there's no enabling; I'd like to be sure that my girlfriend/wife wouldn't change on me or leave me if I lost my job and couldn't find another one.

It’s not a red flag unless he’s been unemployed for too long when there are decent jobs he could have gotten or he got fired for doing something stupid at work. But I wouldn’t start dating a guy if either of us was unemployed unless we were students. If you don’t have a job and you’re not in school your top priority should be finding a new job before getting into a new relationship.

Unemployment is not even an issue during a Pandemic. I prior to Pandemic worked 65% from home
