Giving a girl your number instead of asking for hers?

Thoughts on giving a girl you're interested in your number. Has anyone tried this? What if the encounter went well and you made a connection?

It's always better to take her number as your "Plan A". That said, when I met my ex, for reasons I can't remember, I couldn't take her number on my phone. So I had her write my number down in hers, with instructions to text me her number once she got off the underground train (we met in the tube station so neither of us had phone signal). I remember I actually had her repeat the instructions out loud and to promise she'll text me right away haha. It may have been a bit pushy, but hey, don't knock it if it actually works lol. But there was already a clear "vibe" between us so I felt more comfortable entrusting her with my number. So it's kind of a situational thing-- if she's already invested in meeting up with you in the near future, then there's no reason she wouldn't text you back right away.

Its better to get hers so you call her rather than waiting for her to. But you can each do it too

I think it's normal for guys to give girls their number. For example like, in the serving industry people/costumers leave phone numbers on napkins, leave business cards at tables, if it's a bar on coasters. You are leaving the play with. Which can be torture or tantalizing to sit and wait for a text. How exciting would that be if she called/texted you?

I get hers and immediately text her to "make sure I got it right." This way she either has mine or I find out that she gave me a fake.
