Why do girls always prefer someone who is older than them and ditch younger guys or even guys that are the same age as them?

I always wondered that. I see girls in dating apps always choosing on preferences older guys and the minimum age they choose is usually one year older than they are. Why is that? We guys have a more wide range of ages that ee prefer. Why girls mostly prefer older guys?

They generally have a better social status even if they dont. For example I chose to wait to buy a house so I can have a lower mortgage on the back end. Means I am less desirable right now to women but my net worth is above the average 31 year old. I finished college no debt and full time job because of how I planned. Now I see all the girls my age ask for me to have my own place even if they are 28 still in college with tons of debt living at home. Yeah that was an actual profile I saw and it said you must have your own car and house.

I prefer men my age. I wouldn't date someone younger though, at least not on purpose. If I met a guy I really liked and turns out he's 2 years younger, fine. More than that though I wouldn't like but i'm 23 which is quite young. And men do mature slower than women. ;)

I can’t really say personally considering I’ve always preferred close to my age but I would guess they think the older men would be more mature and established in life than guys closer to their own age.

I dunno, I prefer older guys because I’m immature and I need someone older to keep me grounded. That doesn’t mean I’d rule out someone younger, but my boyfriend is older than me coincidentally.

Bcoz usually guys are anyway late boomers and puberty also hits them late not like they are any way bright but sometimes we take our chances by giving them a few years head start to reach our level of maturity and opportunity to be little less dense if there balls are enough grown up and they start using their brain.

Not to mention maturity, wisdom, confidence, and better emotional control. They tend to be less jealous, less controlling and more relaxed. Not all of them of course but on average.

@mindNsoul i suspect that's connected with their higher status in general. Its been replicated in studies that high status people produce more serotonin (ie: tge "chillout" hormone), whereas the "young bucks" produce more testosterone because their relative lack of status means they have more to "prove", and therefore are more aggressive. So tge idea that "alpha males" are the overly aggressive ones is total BS. I always think the person who's really in control is the one who's calm while everyone else is freaking out. Older men are more established in their "tribes" and in society, so they produce more serotonin, therefore they're perceived as calmer, wiser, more "sagelike" and easier to depend on in a crisis, whereas younger less established men are just reacting based on aggression and trying to prove themselves (especially to the females, since women's sexual selection of young men is a large contributor to our disproportionately high testosterone levels).

It's why older men with no social status have such aggressive temperament shifts in middle age, coz they're still relying on aggression hormones to compete with men half their age, rather than "basking" in the serotonin-induced calmness that literally soaks into the nervous system of their "superiors". So they buy sports cars and hit on teenage girls and cheat om their wives to desperately prove to themselves they're sexually selectable and not a loser

I understand that and it makes sense. But I've met men who are not classified as being well established by societal norms but also exhibit calmness and confidence. Experience does matter. I also noticed within myself that I've grown and matured tremendously over the years. Things don't matter as they used to and I don't take life as seriously. I am also much more secured and confident emotionally in my judgement. I don't force myself or do I force others. And I give totally different advices than I would of years ago.

It is the same with men. I also noticed that some people grow closer or away from religion. That's also a factor in how you view the world around you. This is not to say that your argument is wrong or anything. I'm just saying some people seek internal peace and joy. They seek growth within themselves so they become prettier the older they get. And that's attractive in a man. More then his wealth and social status. At least for me.

Girls prefer older guys because they feel more safe then guy there age or younger. Not all girls do this but some just do it for the fun of it. Don't worry one day you'll find that girl and won't have to worry.
