How long should the ‘talking stage’ last?

I’ve been talking to this guy for a month, we’ve only been on a couple of dates due to him living an hour from me and we both have busy schedules, but there’s a real spark between us. At the start he said to me that he wasn’t specifically looking for a relationship but wouldn’t be opposed to it if he found the right person, and he’s joked about introducing himself to my parents as my boyfriend, so I’m making the assumption that he can see the spark too... But how long should the talking stage last? I don’t want to rush it, specially with what he said when we first started talking, but I also don’t want to risk taking too long and letting it fizzle out...

Trust me, you never want it to end.
Being able to talk and be attracted to someone's personality as well as physically is not an easy thing to come by. The fact that you guys can talk for hours and still have stuff to say will go a VERY long way in the future and is also the sign for a strong and healthy relationship.
Don't rush things, and don't overthink. Those things can put unneeded pressure into what is working good for you guys so far. It will progress eventually, just be patient and keep building on top of what you guys already have. If you can learn something new about your partner every day than its never a waste of time.

That sounds like a real long shot and what Do you mean by how long does the talking stage last? there’s always communication and talking during a relationship
