My boyfriend pulled 3 all nighters in a row gaming?

So my boyfriend and I rarely have weekends off together. This past weekend, he decided to pull 3 all-nighters while gaming and sleeping all day. It was a beautiful weekend and perfect weather to go out and hike or take the boat out on the lake.

Instead, he decided to game all weekend and didn’t want to do anything with me. I’m super bummed. I mean, I want him to do what he wants with his time but the fact that he had to do this during the only time we have off together is kinda bogus.

Should I say anything about it or just let it go?

3 all nighters? Wow.. well I am night owl myself but I don't think I could game for that long. I read something about 19yr old doing that and ended up dying cause clot formed in his leg. Great example of why some girls don't like dating men who are gamers sometimes. Is this the only times he's done this or is it often that he chooses gaming over spending time with you? If he's willing to just do things he wants to do during his free time while ignoring or excluded you all the time, then it might be time to sit down with him and talk about where the relationship is heading. If this is a constant issue and he's always choosing other things over you, then I would end the relationship and move out.

Trust me, I used to be a gaming addict, and you dont realize how addicted you are until you can break away from it.

I'm serious, say something to him.

You have to say something that will shake him, something like, he's going to lose you if he doesn't start acting more mature and take responsibility for his life.


Gaming is an absolute addiction, I can say that 100% with certainty.

I used to be one.


Your mind doesn't even function correctly after playing games for a long time.


If he is so addicted that he isn't willing to change for you, then by all means you should leave him.


I dont mean to come on so strong, but I'm telling you, I know what I'm talking about because I used to be there, but I never even had it so bad as to pull 3 all nighters.
That is simply foolish, and INSANITY!

Games can be super engaging. I know it may not be your thing, but this is an opportunity to bond with him, enjoy something together with him that he finds incredible. Just like reading an amazing book series, and realizing that the rest of the world is unaware of the incredible journey you just experienced, there are many couples where the man plays a game, finishes this epic journey, and would love nothing more than to share it with you, but he can't because the only way is for you to experience it yourself. Try to experience it with him.

Or maybe he's just a shallow addict. It depends. What's the game?

You two should have a talk about it.

Maybe he didn't know you wanted to go out for the weekend. Maybe he had a long week and just needed game time to recharge.

Either way, both of you could use more communication on this.

It doesn't help either of u if u don't communicate, but it's also good staying together if u cannot have honest communication..

I've been addicted to games before & it's wild.. U usually don't really see it as addiction at the time, but it can often be a form of escapism, as u are actually able to be successful in the game world..

Discuss it with him & lovingly confront the issue.. "For lack of vision, people cast off restraint.." He's addicted because he may have lost sight or not know where he is going / headed in life, so should write his vision & make it plain..

Saying something about it will only cause drama and make it worse. If his behavior is something that bothers you that much, see if it continues, in which case just break up. I think it's normal for a gamer to do that sort of thing, and it'll go a long way if you can accept it, but if you can't, putting restrictions in a relationship only makes it get worse, that's why I said what I said

Definitely let him know how you feel. Don't get aggressive and say you are always on games and don't pay attention to me. Say I would really enjoy spending more time with you and when you stay up all night gaming and sleep all day we miss out of time we could have together. Could you game a little but less because I miss spending time with you.

If it bothers you then you should definitely say something about it. If you don't he will never know that it bothers you. Most younger men aren't very perceptive to a women's feelings unless the women displays her feelings without a doubt. So unless you did something or said something that would lead him to believe that you didn't like what he did, then he is probably totally oblivious.
