Is it possible to fall in love with someone online?

With this pandemic, we can't meet face to face even if we wanted to.
However we've been talking daily for a few Months now.
We had deep conversations.
We feel like we really connect.
We video call sometimes.
Could I say that what I'm feeling is really love... or could it be something else given we haven't met each other in person yet.
I'm confused.
Would you allow yourself to fall for someone so deep, only to face reality and find out it doesn't work?
I always thought it's best to meet someone first before you allow yourself to be involved emotionally.

I think people can develop deep connections with a person “online” and can even get as close as possible through video chat etc. However, in person can establish even more connections and reveal even more about a person and a relationship (both good and bad). It’s like a whole other part of someone to discover! I think most people who respond to this question will focus on the actual relationship online vs in person because that is what you asked. I actually want to focus on something you wrote in your question. You wrote, “fall in love.’ If a person can “fall in love,” then wouldn’t the opposite also be true, that a person can “fall out of love?” I don’t doubt you have established deep emotional connections with someone online and that those connections are mutual and real but ask yourself, can you “fall out of love” with that person? If you just suddenly stopped communicating with each other online, how would you feel? What would you do? Not just now but a week from now, a month, a year? So to answer your question, if you think “falling in love” is just as equally possible as “falling out of love” then you may want to learn more about what love really is. Yes u can fall in love with someone online
But it is also important to meet and spend time with that person in real life.
And than decide whether to start a relationship with him or not.

Personally, I couldn't fall in love with a guy online. It's impossible to know a person's true character just by chatting online. I need to know a guy on a deeper level before I fall in love. I also need to see him in real life situations before I can get to know him more. Online communication is far too superficial.

If a guy online told me he loved me, I wouldn't believe it was real love. Not the kind of love I would want anyway. Because he couldn't know me well enough to determine if he loves me.

It's so easy to create an image of how your life will be with someone you chat to online. People tend to create an image of what that person is like and how their life would/could be together. But that's just an illusion, because it's impossible to know who anyone really is just by chatting online. The person may be very open, honest and sincere. But you still can't know who they are until you've seen how they behave, react and respond to real life situations.
