2 days after first date, only messaged me once.. Bad sign?

So I met with a guy from online the first time Saturday. Our date lasted 6 hours or so. He was VERY talkative the whole time but I was so shy and quiet, it was hard for me to open up. I felt bad but he said he didn’t mind.
When he dropped me off, he gave me this necklace he was wearing and said he’d see me again soon (no kiss). Then that night on Snapchat he sent me his phone number. I texted him the next day and said I had a great time, thanked him, hope to do it again, etc. He responded right away saying he couldn’t stop smiling after the date, slept so well, hasn’t felt like this is a long time and said he’d make time soon to see me again. I work M-F 7am to 4/5 pm, he works a night shift 6/8pm to 5/6 am. I messaged him great, I’d be out of town this coming weekend in response to his message.

So far nothing... His message seemed so positive but I’m just wondering why he doesn’t text me more?

The out of town aspect may have confused him. Not certain, but maybe. You could try saying hi or whatever so as to keep the momentum going.

I know, I felt bad but it’s for my grandmas birthday :/ I didn’t know what else to say to make it better but I may not see him for 2 weeks now ugh

Perhaps mention when you will return and ask to plan something upon your return.
