Even these days racism is rampant and it might actually be increasing, our efforts to reduce racism are backfiring because we did not know how to do it right and now we have screwed up. Some of us are quite open with our racism but others keep a friendly exterior while holding hate within.
There was an Indian on Quora, and he shared his experience of racism in the United States, which was rather surprising to me. He went to find an apartment for himself and his white girlfriend, the estate agent showing him the apartments was a white woman as well. She showed him two apartments and said that there were no other apartments available. He came back home and told his girlfriend that there were only two apartments available and he liked neither, but his girlfriend understood what had actually happened. She went to the same estate agent and suddenly there were five apartments available in the same building.
It is a rather sad story, but it is reality and we have to deal with reality. Back to the original topic, the question, are you open to dating someone of a different race?

I am very open to dating outside my race and most people are but just don't know it. There are so many people in the world it would be a slim chance you were dating someone that had no other ethnic background in their bloodline.
I mean the old story that the first humans were from the continent of Africa. I don't know if the primordial ooze that created us was in Africa.
The issue really is that most people say they don't date outside there race when they don't date a particular race. My dad used to try and brain wash me into we don't date outside our race but I was a living contradiction of his teaching. I was half white and half Asian. He also said at one point I should find myself a nice Mexican lady. What he meant by we don't date outside our race is we don't date black people. I have dated outside my race and the only issue I had was the people that had an issue seeing an interracial couple.
People don't date outside their race for many reasons, most of which are instilled racist backgrounds being the taught. It is like being on a thousand year old feud. The people on the latter end of the feud don't know why they are fighting the other side or why they hate the other side. Because it has been taught and ingrained through their upbringing. They were taught to hate the other side like people are taught never to date outside their race.
Some don't because they hate a race, some don't because they want to but don't want to been seen with someone outside their race, some don't because they don't know any better they are just following the masses, some don't because they are afraid of how they are viewed for dating another nationality.
This type of behavior plays into a lot of topics really. It becomes more of a guilty pleasure than anything else. Like for example men are very much homophobic and despise gay people, or do they really? A man will say how gross gay people are but yet that same man will be home beating off to some lesbian porn. The difference being it isn't two gay guys. So this goes back to people stating they don't date outside their race or just a particular race like what my dad was trying to teach me? People say that transgenders shouldn't be treated equally but yet men are having consenting sex with transgender people and enjoying it. They will not support them in any way but they will have their fun with them as long as no one knows about it.
I guess to answer your... original question? is that there is a long history of racism. and it continues today because we come from a long history of racism and colonialism plus slavery. Racism isn't going to end overnight or at all. The best we can probably obtain is a much reduced racism.
But how do we overcome racism? well we need a better mix of culture and races. Most of that can be seen in cities around the world however, that is not enough as people that come from more rural or conservative backgrounds or just places that only have one skin color literally only have experiences with people that "look like them" so this new experience is similar to our primal reaction to "foreign" life or things. It can be positive or negative depending on the person's trauma towards different people. I say trauma because they are the first or most impactful impressions we have and will be the feeling we feel when a similar situation arise.
I think to counteract this we would have to figure out how to literally move people of all different skin colors and cultures so that the next generation can grow up in diverse communities. OR Create an international agreement to have people do exchanges and live in different parts of the world or maybe in a local city. I think right now racism comes from our lack of experience and our trained reaction from TV or religion or just being isolated in a single community. How do we get everyone exposed to globalization?
Of course. I honestly don't understand why race is still an issue for people in the dating world. Particularly those of you that whine about having a hard time finding someone you like or no one wants to date you: perhaps look outside your race for potential partners; they might surprise you!

I personally feel that the willingness to date someone outside your race has little to do with actual racisim. Dating a person is complex enough by itself dealing with attraction, compatibility and personality. I mean you could be a racist and still be attracted to the race. Alternatively not being attracted to other races doesn't necessarily make you a racist. What we can agree on is that your willingness to date other races speaks to a certain degree about your personality and open minded nature, which is something that a racist lacks.
I have dated someone of another race within my preference, and yes I was dealing with racism from her parents side. This was a LDR. They falsely assigned racial stereotypes to me before they even met me. Despite me not living up to those stereotypes, their racism relfected the way they treated me.
This never stopped me from dating someone from another race as I'm currently dating a girl from another race aswel (we live in the same country). No problems whatsoever. We are only growing stronger and stronger. My family loves her and her family loves me.
And as others have pointed out. Just because certain races aren't within your preference, doesn't make you a racist when it comes to these races. It depends on how you behave and treat other people of other races, wether they are in your intimate preference or not.
Hell yeah black skin is some of the most beautiful things I've seen. Asians are cute as heck. Middle Easterners I'm more curious about. Mexicans are so fiesty. My last girlfriend was a coloured girl.. Some kind of light skinned Brazilian type thing. She was such a beautiful person, an interesting person. The racial difference didn't bother either of us but it sure seemed to bother everybody around us. Didn't even know we were dating society as well. So let's multiply by 4 the number of blacks benefitting from this program paid for mostly by non-blacks. Since they're about a quarter of the white population. What number do we get? Over 10 million. Per capita, the amount of welfare they take up is absolutely horrendous, despicable, and should not be permitted to go on.
