Probably because they are seeking closure. Sometimes people just need to talk about the breakup and express certain emotions they are feeling. Breakups are rough. Especially for the person that got broken up with. Its not uncommon for them to act a bit crazy.

When i split with a guy and he is persistent in wanting to talk to me i usually just talk to him and let him get out all of his thoughts and feelings. Once that happens things simmer down and they eventually leave you alone.
